aruif wrote:no i like o2 but i currently only p*y £15 a month for my iphpone. If I "upgrade" with them they're not offering me anything for staying with them... it will cost me £203 for the new phone and they want £32 a month for 24 months with less for the £32 than i get for my £15 that i currently p*y! so over 2 years they want £971 (or £40.45 a month if you consider the cost totally spread).

three will give me the same phone for £69 and monthly £35 with more than enough mins, texts and data, much more than o2!! and would be a total of £909 over 2 years. That's £62 saved

if i could afford to b*y the phone outright i could keep my current tariff and it would cost a total of £870 over 2 years a saving of £100! ... plus I can leave at any time should a better sim only deal come about as i'm already out of contract on this tariff.

i use my phone a lot! i'm nervous of entering a 24 month contract with a different smart phone as i don't trust they will last and in the long run will see me stuck without a phone like has happened pre- iphone. :/

that's why i was asking about Three, cos i could do with saving any money possible!
Three are very generous with their upgrades, once your with them, they will virtually offer you anything to stay, when we were trying to cancel my OH contract he was on a £25 a month contract with a lot of minutes, txt & data & they offered him any phone he wanted plus a laptop or a £200 Curry's Voucher for a further 2 year contract on the same tarriff......great offer if we could still get service. I also returned a phone to them which I didn't like once I got it as an upgrade because I didn't like it and was able to select another model, they will basically do anything to keep you.

You can check what coverage is like where you are from here http://www.three.co.uk/Mobile_Broadband/Coverage_speed

Maybe also ask around local to you and see what coverage people are getting.
Preferred Cinema's now Paignton or Exeter!

It depends on how much money you have . I hate 24 month contracts that I b*ght my iPhone outright and now p*y tesco £15 a month( 30 day contract) on a Internet, mins and texts deal. I just like the fact you aren't tied in!

My brother is with three and has problems with signal in his flat whereas i never did!

Last Saturday, I went to see All that Jazz, one of the films in the BAFTA and the ICA Behind the Mask series, with film director Joanna Hogg introducing it and doing the Q&A afterwards. What an epic autobiography of Ben Fosse, doing a movie about himself, to the point of his own death. Amazingly made more than 30 years ago. It was so beautifully filmed, the dancing was mesmerising with some very sensual numbers, a fascinating character study, pressures of the entertainment industry, and mixing of reality with fantasy. Great acting as well from the cast, Roy Scheider putting his all into his portrayal.

Lovely to see valda and the-mental-one there too, and surprisingly, well attended for such a sunny and lovely morning. Then we all went to the St George's Day event at Trafalgar Square and lost each other, well the-mental-one, who looked great in her St George's Day hat, when I was messing around with Lady Gaga and JLS. A very enjoyable morning!

Yes, we get a discount for the broadband
and they offer landlines, too, now, if you want the whole package.

It's no iphone but Orange's San Francisco is very good and only costs £70, it's amazing value for money... HTC have very good phones and now that they have their new range out the old phones are at very good prices. I read that the top 3 phones in the UK are HTC and iphone is 4th. Also the Android operating system is getting more and more popular (I personally love it, everything is free, you don't p*y for apps in general, of course there are a few pa*d ones, but not too many). My vote is definitely for HTS and Samsung Galaxy. I honestly wouldn't even want an iphone. Android ftw!

i was put off by the htc as i read you couldn't use the sync with a mac, which is what i have. the samsung galaxy does look quite nice (very similar to iphone) i'll check out the costs for that one i think. annoying that it doesn't have speaker phone as i use that a lot.

i guess i will have to admit to myself once and for all that i have become an apple fangirl over the last 6 years - i'd love an ipad but have no need for one but want one anyway! lol

edit: i also hate change

Htc are pretty good too as a cheaper alternative. We know you'll end up getting the iPhone

It was all good, but as I mentioned I had to go to Picadilly Circus as I was helping to run Sci-Fi-London and my shift started at 4pm ;)

There are many flavours of HTC and not all are Android operating system, they also do the Windows version. But for me The HTC Desire has been the best all rounder so far. And I do try out many handsets frequently. I currently own Samsung Galaxy S, Desire, and a Toshiba TG01. The Galaxy S would have been my favourite if it wasnt for one glaring flaw, its GPS. Its atrociously innacurate, no matter what hacking I apply to it. The Galaxy S community of hackers has frankly surrendered to it. If you were thinking of using this phone for in car navigation, forget it. Otherwise, if that's not important to you, then this is a beautiful handset with the most vibrant screen for watching movies etc and other rich hardware features. My next 2 phones will be the exciting HTC Sensation and Galaxy S2 due to be available within next couple of months.
