I happened to go in the auditorium for the second half (matinee) and saw the whole half. Lovebirds and the Russian thing are just wonderful. Even after 33 times, I think I will still find it friggin' impressive.

There's so many cirque du soleil shows now, I must admit it's getting blurry for me which one is which. Is it nice working at the RAH? You must get free/discounted tickets?

Lovebirds and the Russian i-don't-remember-what are part of Totem, it's the trapeze act (do you say act or number?) and the one with guys jumping on (kind of soft) planks. Amazing.

I guess I have discounts yes but don't know how it works. I don't want to ask right now as I just started.
I am quite sad not doing much, actually... I mainly stand here and there, welcoming guests... and I don't know why, I talk English like shit while I'm usually fluent, so it makes me feel apart and a bit ashamed when I see people looking weirdly at me... (at least there's a Spanish girl who speaks worse than me).

YET I know I'll be alright in a few days, and the team is great. Seriously, I expected a strict and posh environment, but the RAH team is SO lovely. Even of Head of department. It might be boring and tiring but we have a good laugh with our chiefs and colleagues.

I saw Ghost the Musical last night and wow it was absolutely brilliant! After seeing a single song performance at West End Live that didn't particularly appeal to me I initially wasn't very interested in seeing this show but the raving reviews these past months certainly got me curious and they were all justified.

We were privileged to see the Broadway main cast (the current two main actors are leaving after tonight's performance to lead the upcoming Broadway show and the other main character is currently being understudied by the actress who will take on the part on Broadway) and they were stunning. Cassie Levy (Molly) and Richard Fleeshman (Sam) have beautiful voices and Da'Vine Joy Randolph was absolutely hilarious as Oda Mae Brown and ensured that the character I didn't care for at West End Live and on the soundtrack quickly became a favourite.

And the music, just wow. So gorgeous. I haven't been able to stop listening to the soundtrack since last night. The set is fantastic too, loved the use of the projections, conveyer belts, and the way they handled the "ghost" aspect of the show, it's all very clever and impressive.

In short, I can definitely see myself wanting to see this show again with the full new cast later this year (there's another big cast change next month I believe). 10/10

Saw 'A Round-Heeled Woman' this evening with a superb Sharon Gless and a very good supporting cast, on £3 (inc. BF) tickets from lastminute.com. Ten of us went and we all loved it. Very good indeed - exceptionally funny with some genuine open mouth moments as well.

I am not a fan of the recent influx of getting notifications from the "Free Theatre/Concert Thread - codes only, NO CHAT" thread for competitions and audience tickets. We have a dedicated thread for audience tickets and can we have comps in this discussion thread (or a dedicated competitions thread) instead?

I was hoping SFF might have some tickets for Apassionata again this year as kids really enjoyed it last year, but have just had a 2-4-1 ticket offer from Ticketmaster, so am guessing probably not, they only have one day this year too. January is unfortuantely not the month for ticket b*ying, even at 2-4-1, nevermind.

I was having exactly the same thought raineylb. From memory they gave away quite a few last year. I guess we may be lucky if it hasn't sold well and some may be offered on Thursday or Friday for the performances on Saturday.
