I was there too with hubby, we didn't have time to stay for the Q&A but I thought it was quite good overall. I got a little confused by the ending, however the last scene was really heart-warming :)

Although it lacked the acting menace of The Collaborators or the the split timing of Frankenstein (screened last year) it was pretty good, though I was getting complacent people laughing at the Borat accent which wasnt funny after a while. Almost nearly but not quite a prequel/alternative plot to Hugo, if anyone saw that film earlier this year.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?
Re: Rock of Ages
Does anyone know of any freebies and or comps for the Steel Panther show in London at the end of March. I soooo wanna see these guys, they are soooo funny but they rock!
I missed out on the Rock of Ages previews :'''( Steel Panther would certainly make up for it!
Steel Panther are like The Darkness meets Spinal Tap meets Rock of Ages meets Queen and then some!
If anyone has any to spare, let me know! \m/

We went to see the Lamda production of Racing Demon (play by David Hare) this afternoon at the Linbury Studio. A very good production of an excellent (and award winning) play. Can definitely recommend it. They are performing it 3 more times in the next days. They are also staging a few other plays http://www.lamda.org.uk/development/events/linbury.htm
The tickets are free but one has to book by phone (or e-mail, but it takes a while to get a reply). From what I saw today it is worth getting onto the waiting list - everyone got in.

I also saw Travelling Light at the NT, I enjoyed it but it wasn't solid. Interesting story most of the time and I liked the use of projection to show the films. Had a nice evening but not sure I'd see it again!

Am disappointed that I'm unfortunately not going to get to see this production. I did see A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum last night though which was also very good. Some future stars on evidence almost certainly and very imaginative costumes and set as well.Kaybeelon wrote:We went to see the Lamda production of Racing Demon (play by David Hare) this afternoon at the Linbury Studio. Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
Forgot to mention I saw Les Miserables a few weeks ago. This has been on my "I-really-want-to-see-this" list for a while, but it was a bit of a disappointment. Les Mis has a big cult following of people seeing the show again and again (like me with Rock of Ages
), which really made me expect something extraordinary, when in actual fact it was not. The songs were wonderful and memorable, but the story itself couldn't keep my attention and at nearly three hours dragged on. It's a good thing that I finally saw this show so I can scratch it of my to-see list, but I'm glad we didn't p*y for the tickets.
We also had the most irritating people imaginable behind us. Throughout the entire 3 hours they had a conversation in French in their normal voices (no whispering at all!) despite our continued shushing and shooting them death glares. They also kept kicking our seats, so annoying!
