Full Metal Jacket the other night.
I remembered seeing it when I was too young, and being traumatized by the night toilets scene.
This time, I didn't really react.
Still love the film, though.

As an ironic guesture, and because I had no work, I watched the Jubilee concert on Independence Day. Goodness that was a rather tatty affair, full of retired stars who could no longer sing, grinding out one song each. At least the setting and the fireworks were fantastic, but I am now glad I was at the o2 for that night.

Watched the Glee concert movie. Its actually quite good for the glorified karaoke that it is (if karaoke was ever pre-recorded and mimed, that is ahem). And being able to fastforward past the 2 or 3 dire love duets, the worst of the ugly fan footage, and everytime that gay guy mugs the camera really enhances the movie IMHO.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?

After a modern comedy in Ted, I rushed to see my second comedy of the evening at the BFI, a classic comedy in Some Like it Hot. I can see why this is a classic and still holds up. Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon are hilarious as they disguise themselves as women, and are quite beautiful ! Lemmon is having so much fun as a girl - he is hilarious to watch. The immortal Marilyn Monroe is captivating, beautiful and vulnerable in her role and I just love those songs. The film is witty, inventive and sexy, and no toilet humour! 9/10

The BFI used NFT1 for this screening and what a lovely and comfortable large screening room. The turnaround was really tight though, the previous film finished at 8.30pm, emptied, and no sooner everyone sat down, our screening started at 8.45pm, 5 minutes late! And no trailers.

Senna - great documentary. I'm not a F1 fan but found this very engaging.

Watching The Crow (series) with Mark Dacascos. I mean, Mark is not here, he's playing in the series. Even though that wouldn't disturb me. Or maybe a little. But anyway, good memories from when I was in love with him.
