We sat at the tables at the back, four to a table, and the seats are stuck down! Only realised as I tried to move the chair closer to the table I was sitting at to get more comfortable. It was great having a table though, as it is gives you a lot more space, leg room and somewhere to put your drinks!
Before the show started, an usher walked round with a big placard saying no photos and no recording, so alas, unable to take any sneaky shots.
Good production for Kinks fans and non-fans alike, from the oldies who remembers them to the young's first experience, as the music is really good and the songs really catchy. The voices were really good especially the lead singers who took the part of Ray Davies and his wife Rasa. An enjoyable and easy watch, especially at the end of a long, busy and stressful week at work, where it combines the excitement of a concert down to the screaming fans, with the spirit of the rebellious youth of the sixties. The second half seemed a tad long though, but everyone did stand at the end to have a boogie.
It was full house last night in the Stalls.
I managed to abduct a lovely girl from Ecuador who was waiting at the bus stop heading home, to be my plus one, after accosting a dozen passer-bys, who could not understand what a free ticket means and steered well clear of me! haha. One older lady said she knows the kinks, when I asked her, and was almost hooked until the young lady with her, shouted in horror "mum, let's go" and dragging her away, while her mum followed her muttering, they are free tickets! I just did not want to waste perfectly good tickets.
I got a text back from the lovely girl afterwards" Thank you for the offer, enjoyed every second". My good deed for the day and a new friend made!
