Re: What Did You Watch Last Night?
I watched the last episode of OZ - my word what a brutal, intense, gripping series! A prison drama certainly not for the faint hearted!

Arnie was my action hero, man through the 80s and 90s but for me, Charlton Heston was the greatest action hero of all time. You must try catch his best action orientated films, he will actually remind you of Arnie in certain ways, right down to his physique and facial nuances. But when he delivers his lines, man, its like its coming from his gut.weirdfilms33 wrote:TheyCallMeMrGlass: Arnie is the best
If you havent seen these films yet, make sure you put it on your Lovefilm queue
Ben Hur (MUST)
Planet of the Apes (MUST)

Loving the Promise.
So well done and really enjoying the flashbacks. Making me more aware of the history of the region. Really well acted. Looking forward to next week. Really like the grandfather and no idea what went wrong in his life.

I'm a girl who doesn't like violence but for some reason I have all the OZ Boxsets and all The Wire. I have no idea why I like these shows but they are 2 of the greatest shows ever, and both shows were treated dreadfully by the networks over here. Especially Ozlemondrop wrote:I watched the last episode of OZ - my word what a brutal, intense, gripping series! A prison drama certainly not for the faint hearted!

Black Dynamite, a wonderfully irreverent spoof that had me splitting my sides. You jive-ass punk!

Member number 33 of the "100 free films in 2012" club. I saw 32, which is rather delightful.. I beat Mr. Glass on free films but he narrowly inched me out on total films seen.
Member number 33 of the "100 free films in 2011" club. I saw 20, interestingly enough. My more realistic target was to see more free films than TheyCallMeMrGlass. I lost.

Re: What Did You Watch Last Night?
I watched Titanic last night - the thisislondon comp win!
The tix said to be at O2 cineworld by 6pm, so people started coming in after 6.20pm!
Don't anyone read?? So of course we started late at 6.25pm, and people were still coming in 10 minutes later, which meant we had less time to enjoy the Artefact Exhibition which closes at 11pm.
Even though the film was long, it did not feel it. First time watching it and I can see why it has to be a classic. What a great love story as well as highlighting what a terrible disaster it was, making it even more poignant later when we saw the artefacts recovered from the sunken ship. This was a real tragedy and real people died. Still in awe though how such a huge and heavy liner, it is like a city, can even set sail. The exhibition was fascinating, and wished we could have had longer, but with the late start and the slow queue letting people into the exhibition, we only had just over an hour. It was nice to be greeted with a glass of champagne though.
All in all 10/10 for the film and the whole evening. Even my OH enjoyed it and felt it was time well spent, and that is saying something! Thanks a_person for posting the comp.
