April 14th 2011 will mark an important date in jewellery history with the official presentation of ‘The World’s First Diamond Ring’, an in-depth animation that charts the creation of a unique ring composed entirely of a finished diamond with the band carved directly into the stone. London has been selected as the city to present this exclusive invitation-only event at one of the capital’s top, award-winning venues, Il Bottaccio at 9 Grosvenor Place, Mayfair.
The event will be attended by a select audience of 350 media, buyers, insiders from the fashion, art, music and film worlds, and celebrity VIPs. Commencing at 7pm with a champagne reception and live music, Shawish’s most recent jewellery collection will be on display throughout the evening.
Shawish jewellery is distinguished by attention to detail and extreme rigour throughout the manufacturing process. The jewellery is assembled in-house by a team of highly-skilled craftsmen in a workshop adjoining the showroom. “It’s a fantasy. It seemed impossible so we decided to embark on this adventure. We did it to make people’s dreams come true and to create the perfect diamond ring,” say the two young craftsman and founders of Swawish. Working in close proximity with artisans allows complete control over all stages of production from the initial faceting of the stones to polishing and assembly – all of which are carried out to Shawish’s own exacting standards.
I used to work in the in diamond industry, so saw a lot of diamonds! They were fabulous!
