Never been a fan of popcorn. I think it tastes like paper (or how I imagine paper to taste!).
Talking about confiscated refreshments at cinemas, I had a bottle of drink taken away from me when I went to Genesis cinema in East London many years ago. But instead of getting a refund I drank the whole thing (with a huff and a puff) in front of the usher/guard. I do sometimes worry that it will happen again when I go to cinemas so I tend to stuff any drinks I may have deep into my bag.

Cineworld Haymarket did the same to me too once. I went for a preview and the dim idiot I can be at times forgot to hide my very big packet of Butterkist Toffee Popcorn. Yes it does exist and it is very nice!!! After toffee, I would go for this except it can get sicknening! Asda's Extra Special section do Belgian Chocolate with Pecan Popcorn Clusters and it is delicious! Was only able to eat a quarter though as it was far too sweet and felt quite sick during the movie! There is a strawberry and white chocolate one too although never taste dit yet myself! I would recommend the Belgian one though!! LOL, I think I once ate an entire sandwich in front of an usher at Odeon Greenwich waiting in line. He didn't bat an eyelid.

When we went to see The Proposal a couple sat down in front of us and promptly got out a bucket of KFC - I was absolutely amazed. Made the place smell and my stomach grumble and they didn't even turn round and offer me any!!

Ooohh I cant go to the pics without getting salty popcorn....... but does anyone know why the stopped serving the butter you could get as an extra over your popcorn .. oh and why cinema popcorn is not warm anymore????

There was a program on tv once about taking your own food into the cinema.
The presenter took his own sweets,drinks and even a hotdog into the cinema.
When he was told he cant take it in he asked to speak to the manager, the manager said he could not take the hot dog due to health and safety(was it properly/safley prepared etc)but the sweets and drinks were fine.
I think that it concluded that you could take your own popcorn etc into the cinema as there were no signs to say otherwise which means that you are breaking no laws.
