Bast..ds. (Sorry for the language but that was my first thought.)

I doubt they will reply because then your tweet will appear on their twitter page in an easy to see way for everyone. Try Facebook where the subject can't control what appears.

I would have thought it was quite clear why. The Israeli embassy is paranoid about pro-palestinian or anti-israeli views and about suffocating dissent. Security must have conducted some kind of subjective "profiling" or (as prettyxcool herself suggested) they just took a dislike to you which I'm sure was confirmed in their eyes when you had the nerve to ask why? - bullies! They must have thought you might ask the director or raise a "difficult" question about Israeli policy etc., or, quite simply they denied you entry just because they can! I'm so sorry you had such an unfair and awful experience.

I was turned away because my OH refused to be interrogated after he already showed his ticket and photo ID. He said he was coming to see a film, he didn't see the relevance, and was prepared to leave without me. We already gave in advance our details including date of birth. No one else was interrogated. So since they would not let him in, I was barred too because I was with him. We complained to the organisers but they did nothing. Said it was out of their hands. Curzon Soho said it was a private event and did nothing.

They treated us like criminals. It seemed as Security took a dislike to us, singled us out, interrogated us, then refused us entry, even held on to my Photo ID refusing to give it back after many requests, eventually, I had to grab it back. It was horrible. We only came to see a film in a public place. I was shocked and astounded.

Now the Palestinians have offered me VIP tickets to their Film Festival, confirming that there will be no interrogations, and no checkpoints! ;)

What a disgrace, sorry you had to endure that. I hope you enjoy the Palestinian film festival. I'd love to go to that

how terrible. That was actual criminal behaviour, attempted theft of your property. wtf is wrong with countries these days. ans how embarrassing for you, no wonder your OH walked, I would (well i have on such rare occasion, nightclub and such).

Curzon better offer you something, see if you cant get it.

noticed the "everyone is welcome" tag on their website you pasted in... perhaps they should change that to "everyone is welcome....as long as you arent not welcome"

Yes, disgraceful. Why advertise publicly on twitter, if not everyone is welcome. Perhaps, this particular security guard just has a grudge against anyone not from Israel. I will never know. :D

You can go? I just posted:
