When a young wild dolphin is caught in a crab trap, severely damaging her tail, she washes up on shore and is rescued by a young boy.
 
Without a tail, her chances of survival are dramatically reduced. But with the help of a dedicated marine biologist (Harry Connick Jnr) and a brilliant prosthetics doctor (Morgan Freeman), her team of carers work towards a seemingly impossible and ground breaking miracle.
 
Not only could it save Winter the dolphin, the pioneering work being done could also help thousands of people all around the world.
