’71: RUN, HIDE, SURVIVE’ competition
Posted September 23rd, 2014 by Sarah Chorley

To celebrate the release of the critically acclaimed thriller ’71, directed by Yann Demange (Top Boy) and starring Jack O’Connell (Starred Up, Unbroken), we’re very pleased to announce a special Shooting People competition inspired by the film, which is in UK cinemas from October 10th.
We’re looking for filmmakers to submit a mini film via Vine, using the theme ‘RUN, HIDE, SURVIVE. Then, submit your clip via Twitter including @ShootingPeople, #RunHideSurvive, and #71Film.
The winner and a friend will get chance to attend the UK premiere of ’71 in London on Oct 9th, and get their hands on a range of ’71 merchandise including; a signed poster and a limited edition copy of the soundtrack by David Holmes on vinyl.
To start getting inspiration on the themes, check out the trailer for ’71 here:
’71 follows the harrowing journey of a young British soldier who is accidentally abandoned by his unit following a riot on the streets of Belfast in 1971. Unable to tell friend from foe, and increasingly wary of his own comrades, the raw recruit must survive the night alone and find his way to safety through a disorientating, alien landscape.
The film has been receiving rave reviews at festivals from Berlin to Telluride, and it’s one we can’t wait to catch come opening weekend, 10th October.
Get your entries in by 11.59pm on Tuesday 7th October. Winners will be notified the following day.
