Couldn't agree more with what everyone has said already! Saw this at a very packed Ritzy with a Formula One fan. She thought it was brilliant. I thought it was very compelling and was hooked from the very beginning. Really great to learn about and see all the behind the scenes, and makes you really understand and appreciate the skill that they had as Formula One drivers and the rivalry between them. And as a result of his death, it was a turning point for the safety of Formula One racing, and there has not been another fatality since, despite accidents still happening. Brilliant editing. 9/10

Re: Senna
Saw this at a packed Brixton Ritzy. It was a gripping, revealing documentary (especially the footage of the drivers pre-race meetings, and the footage of a clearly worried Senna at Imola prior to the race). I'm not an F1 fan either but the time flew by and seeing it all from this perspective was really interesting. 8/10

Re: Senna
I really want to see this. I didnt realise this was a documentary. I thought it was just a hollywoodised re-enacted biography of Senna. It was very depressing time when Senna died. I remembered it well. We saw the crash and there were runours that Senna was critical but it was only until later that he was announced he died. Cue the conspiracies of murder etc but as PXC says it was a tunring point in increased safety measures. Lessons have been learnt. The Prost and Senna rivalry was gripping and there has never been anything like their rivalry since. Thanks for the reviews guys. KK your one is great as you add extra information not in the doc that I never knew about. Its cool, I can watch the documentary with that extra knowledge.

Re: Senna
I surprised myself both by going to see this today and by enjoying it. I went only because it neatly filled a gap before a matinee and cost me just £1 as I used a Curzon voucher, but as others have said, it was compelling and absorbing and you need no interest in sport at all, let alone F1, to be drawn in. As usual, Kevin Knapman has said it all and so well.

Re: Senna
Great to see this finally after reading so many good things about it.. Well deserved praise indeed, this was excellent. So much great footage (loved the onboard lap around Monaco), wouldn't mind seeing the 3-hour version of the film at some point. I've watched a lot of F1 over the years and remember the Senna-Prost rivalry (although the details have become fuzzy over the years, forgot about Prost being a bit of a knob in those Japanese races), Senna's first Interlagos win (in 6th gear!!), and that awful Imola weekend. So poignant to see Senna talk about having plenty of time to do other things in life not long before his accident. As expected the last 10 minutes are gutwrenching. Well recommended 9/10.

Re: Senna
Saw it last night, I loved it. Better than TT3D for me, a more focussed piece, and wonderfully done. It flowed perfectly, absolutely perfectly, leading to a striking pace come the climax, during which I was covering my eyes.
I knew nothing about the man, or that era of racing, before this film, was only an ankle biter when it all occurred, so it was informative, and refreshing filmmaking, elements of narration from the people required, without talking heads and all that stuff, a narrative, fictional film only real.
And it's up there with the year's best.
10/10
