yes 1st kisses are generally clumsy. I was just expect more from it. I have dissussed it with my friend who agreed, the kiss between Harry/Hermione from Rons nightmares was better.

First of all thank you again to funthing29 for getting me tickets. You seriously made me sooo happy! I could go on and on and on about how grateful I am.

Me and my friend got there about 5.50pm, I got a little scared as the man in Sheffield was checking off peoples names and because funthing29 just changed her name to mine I wasn't on the list. Thankfully he just assumed it was their error and they let us in.

I honestly didn't mind all the red carpet stuff because if I wasn't sat in the cinema waiting for the actual film to come on, I would've been sat at home glued to the live feed on Youtube.

As for the film itself I loved loved loved it. The main stand out moment for me was The Prince's Tale as someone who doesn't even like Snape much it really got to me. I could go on to list a whole other load of amazing moments but I'll be here all day. The only bit that let it down for me was the epilogue. I'm not really into writing long reviews or giving it a mark out of whatever, all I gotta say is having grown up with Harry and having him in my life ever since I read PS 12 years ago, it was a great way to end it.

The 3D I didn't even notice to honest, I'm just glad that I got a pair of the special Harry Potter glasses.

Talking of unintentional funny bits,
I burst out laughing when Voldemort hugged Draco, it was just so awkward I couldn't help it. I seemed to be the only one who found it amusing though.
I know it's been said before but the red carpet stuff - how dull was that? I was so bored, and fed up it made me fairly grumpy. I was hungry having run from work to get there and the food at Vue is inedible/not food so was more grumpy. I then got uncomfortable and more grumpy. It really didn't bode well for the film which was, well, forgettable after all the hype.

The 3D was negligible and ineffective for the most part. Daniel Radcliffe was pretty wooden for the most and although I have read all the books and seen all the other films really didn't engage with this one. Maggie Smith provided some much needed class and joy as did Raph Fiennes but nope, it just didn't hang together for me properly as a film of the book or as an end to an epic. I was really quite disappointed and then more grumpy.

Can't believe it was 10pm before we got out of the cinema. 4 hours?! On reflection for the first time ever, I actually wished I'd just pa*d to see it and not had all the red carpet guff as then I might have been in a better mood and actually enjoyed it more!

5/10 from me and -10/10 for the red carpet bit!
Sorry, being a dour Scot today!

I just posted a longer review than "it was fantastic and I cried" on my blog, so here it is:

I saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 last night and I thought it was absolutely fantastic! The movie was visually stunning and while repeatedly heartbreaking a beautiful ending to the franchise. The 3D effects looked fantastic, the battle scenes were suitably epic and every single actor was extraordinary - whether they were the star of a scene, or only had a single line during the entire movie. And yes, I cried.

When we were watching the red carpet premiere (which was shown in 3D before the start of the movie) I was already tearing up during Emma Watson's speech. Seeing people cry makes me cry and considering that I knew the end of this fantastic story was near as well it took very little for me to get going. Thank God for Darren Criss jumping up an down on the red carpet and making me smile or I would've probably spent half of the red carpet coverage in tears.

But back to the movie. Here are some brief spoilery thoughts on Snape, the epilogue and character deaths:
• I never liked Snape, nor did I understand why so many fans love his character so dearly. And because of this the revelation in the book that he is a good guy after all always felt peculiar to me. Yet the Prince's tale, in which we see him as a young child falling in love with Lily, being tormented by James and eventually cradling Lily's death body in his arms, was the most beautiful and heartbreaking part of the movie. I cried buckets. It's hard to describe really how phenomenal this part is, you have to see it for yourself. But it was certainly Snape's shining moment and Alan Rickman was absolutely superb.

• I was so disappointed we did not get to see Fred, Remus or Tonks die. I know it's likewise in the books but there are often many changes in film adaptations and this truly was one that the story could benefit from. The moment felt even more fleeting than in the book, with a blink and you miss it scene where everyone weeps over their death bodies. They're truly great characters - important to the stories and Harry - and they deserved so much better than that.

• The epilogue, oh god you guys. I am one of few people who actually adored this in the book - as it's a nice change of scenery after the darkness of the last few instalments - and I like the cheesy happily ever after vibe. However, I am not sure what to think of the movie version. The first thing I did was laugh when the actors came on screen (which was probably a good thing as I had just spent half a movie with tears streaming down my face). Harry was aged reasonably well, Ron got chubby, Draco didn't age well and Hermione and Ginny both seemed to have not been aged at all. This was particularly bad in Ginny's case as she looked like a 15 year-old girl wearing her mother's outfit. Still, the scene with Harry and Albus Severus Potter was cheesy and sweet.
• I love you Neville Longbottom, you're fantastic.

• And the trio? I miss them already :'( I think it's high time for a reread of the books followed by a rewatch of the movies and perhaps another few viewing of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. Yes, it was that good.

10/10

Awesome evilzadi, stick with it! Hows the vibe on the queue? Are you making new friends, chatting with enthusiasts? :) When I queued for Star Wars premiere tickets, the time went so quickly despite the overnight sleeps as everyone was just cheerful and funny. I hope you're having the same fun.
I would have loved to stay overnight but I didn't want to on my own so I will be leaving for Trafalgar square again in the early hours of the morning, and hopefully be able to squeeze in a decent spot.
How was the premiere evilzadi? Did you get a good spot with your wristband?

Oh yes, I forgot to mention that in my original review.
I don't think Fred was given the death scene he deserved. Harry actually witnesses Fred's death in the book unlike Lupin and Tonks so I think they should have found a way to include it in the film. All you see is Ron crying over a dead body and people unfamiliar with the books may not have realised that was Fred (could have been George). The way Fred's death was handled in the film was a disservice to the character, IMO.

And where was Grawp during the battle?
Finally get around making a review, We moved today so it was a bit hectic and I think my mom is finally coming to terms with me going
to uni in September. Told me rather bluntly that I shouldn't unpack since September is just round the corner 8O ...OUCH...I was kindoff hoping for a few tears....probably going to turn my so called room into a gym

Arrived at the O2 about half past five and there was already a long que but surprisingly got good seat on the row before last. Personally would rather watch the red-carpet best bits than the whole thing. On with the film, what can I say that haven't been said..first of all the 3D was rubbish, dont think they intended to do it at first probably got told to do it. Credits go to David Yates for shooting this rather well and giving it this kind off dignity like when Snape was getting killed even if it is missing a few bits from the book.

As for the acting I will always cherished Maggie Smith as Professor McGonagall and Matthew David Lewis, as Neville, the underdog who did good. As for the others I cant really fault them or that I didn't particularly care since i was so engrossed it the story to even judge. Things were certainly different than I imagined in my head especially the Gringotts and Chambers of secrets scene and as for Ron and Hermione finally smooch I hope they win MTV's movie awards best kiss...I had enough of Twillight winning it :p

They did exit with a bang and lets just say on tube home..not much talking happened :crying: 10/10
