I've been better with the typos and such at least. Not sure why this one wasn't caught by the proof-reader.
Thank you, for your ever watchful eagle eye, Beate.

Re: You Instead
Gee, that was bad!
The premiere did have a red carpet, or well, a red rug outside!
They'd just put chairs out for us plebs on the ground floor in front of the stage where they'd rigged up a big screen.
I'm not sure if it was the film or the venue but the sound was really distorted and I toiled to hear, quite often, what the leads were saying, not that it was terribly inspiring or I missed much!
It did improve a bit or I got adjusted to it, but I did keep checking my watch.
The guy who played Archie from Monarch of the Glen (Alastair something) really seemed out of his comfort zone and was a stange casting, I though.
Some of the music was good.
I left at the end of the film before the bands.
Sorry, big music fan, not a big fan of this though, 2/10 from me.

Re: You Instead
Oh where were you Alythonian? Did you at first wander from the right hand side, walk at the front before deciding to sit in the left hand side of the stage near the back?
Boo to me as I am not VIP enough to sit in the balcony. Quite surprised by this film because there was no story really. Not enough a script really as it was barely audible due to the music. I was too busy watching who I knew on screen and very surprised to see Cora Bisset (who played one of the blondes in the band). Must remember to ask her about this film next time I see her. Two strangers handcuffed from the start and how did it end? Well how do you think? Cos you be probably right. My friend who was with me was telling how they tried to get the crowd at T to shout her name and failed plus seeing them filming them onstage handcuffed asking if anyone had a bolt cutter. Believe me I spend 5 weeks of my summer ever year at Balado and I know they can easily get one if they really wanted to. Also knowing the layout of T in the Park spoilt the film for me as I know it is very unlikely the film happen the way it did. Why the fake accent from the lead? They didn't need to be American really.
Nice to see the stars of the film making an effort to come along but how wee and skinny is Luke Treadway. Not a good idea for him to stand beside his co star whilst she wears those boots.
As others say a decent advertisement for T in the Park. 3/10

Re: You Instead
Was also at the premiere tonight. A lot of the gloss of winning tickets for this was lost by getting emails from the organisers saying that I was welcome to bring lots of friends. Was rather empty to begin with and by the end of the bands that followed the film there were about half a dozen people left. Bit of a shame really, but an after show party on a school night?
The sound quality was indeed apalling. I think I heard a grand total of 6 words in the dialogue. Couldn't have told you what accent the lead used! Didn't actually detract from the story (what little story there was). Surprised to see that this is a BBC film too.
Yes Luke Treadaway is skinny. lol. Last time I saw him was in naked full frontal glory in Clapham Junction (the movie, not the place! haha).
Good to see all the cast that attended (sadly not Archie from Monarch though) mingling around the bar afterwards.
Afraid it only gets a mere 3/10 for me. (And I am a T in the Park fan)

Re: You Instead
I saw it at the Piccadilly Apollo on Tuesday and to be honest I did not find it that bad. It was indeed a sort of big ad for T in the Park and the story was nothing special, but I liked the leads and the music 6/10

Re: You Instead
Loved this! This is a really cool film, fun, light and fluffy. Absolutely brilliant and so glad I went to see it. It is as close as you can get to a music festival without actually being there!
I love music festivals, and so I may be a bit bias!
Loved the soundtrack, recognised all the acts, wanted to sing and dance along... I was really immersed in the festival atmosphere, the director introduced the film and said the film was shot at T in the Park, taking just four and half days to make it, the only way to based a story around a festival was to film it at one. I think it really worked.
Loved the leads too. Great performances from Luke Treadway (Attack the Block and Heartless) and Natalia Tena (Harry Potter). They wrote their own songs for the film, and I thought they were very convincing as singers (especially Natalie, she has her own real life band), and had great chemistry together.
This was London's You Instead Launch, held at Camden Odeon and there was a party afterwards at Barfly. Thanks to Beate's OH winning the comp and letting me have his tickets!
Before the screening, the stars posed for photos. Totally confused when I saw Luke Treadway walking around in the foyer, first in green trousers than in the blue jeans. It turns out it was his twin brother, Harry (Fish Tank). Luckily, I managed to get photos taken with both! It was fab bumping into bevvy and 5rannoch, and thanks for saving me seats while I was playing paparazzi! And an ex-colleague who I had not seen for three years! Asked how he got in and he said he got too many bloody CD's at HMV!
The cinema was packed. And after the film we all went round the corner to Barfly for free drinks and a gig by Luke and then Natalie with her band, Molotov Jukebox, who totally rocked our socks off! At one stage found myself dancing with Luke and Ruta Gedmintas (who also plays his girlfriend in the film).
And got kissed by Tonks from Harry Potter - aka Natalie Tena! I seen to have this effect on girl singers!
10/10

LOL, glad you had a good time. I am sure I wouldn't have enjoyed this half as much as you did.
