Drive
Re: Drive
How bizarre. Following on from my strange feeling immediately coming out from this movie earlier I just played thedude's YouTube track from the Drive soundtrack and immediately felt the same again, complete with shivers up spine. Must be some sort of Pavlovian conditioning thingy. I neeeeeed this soundtrack, and I really need to see this movie again. Soon!

Though not available elsewhere until the 27th, you can download the soundtrack through iTunes right now. If you're desperate.stuartboy wrote:I neeeeeed this soundtrack, and I really need to see this movie again. Soon!

Re: Drive
Saw this at Stratford East, I have to see this again tomorrow. So exhilarating and full of tension.
I can understand how people said it was slow in the beginning but when the plot thickened it had your full attention.
The plot wasn't complicated but straightforward and doesn't get caught up in cliches which makes the movie so much cooler.
I was extremely happy with the acting of the main characters and Gosling had done well showing does different side of Driver/kid but I have to agree with the underuse of Mulligan.
It was moments when he forgot about everything around him and the restraint in some of the scenes made you shiver and all you could think was "will he do it or will he walk away" and the tension was excruciating.
I love the soundtrack and I would agree about that song that gets stuck in your head. I will definitely see this again tomorrow. Extremely cool 10/10

Re: Drive
I have to admit I laughed once or twice but it wasn't because it was funny but as soonforgotten said it was a way to release tension. The people behind me were arguing about the fact that their drink wasn't "diet".Celini wrote: (Should have been 10, but people chuckling and gasping @Clapham PH really bothered me, and i hated the foul-breathed guy seating behind me!)

Re: Drive
Took another wee trip to Edinburgh this morning to see this so that OH and I won't have a dilemma tomorrow.
I really enjoyed this film but OH didn't. Yes it is slow paced but I felt it was at the right pace for the story. Loved how they used the soundtracks it enhanced the viewing pleasure. I admit I flinched during the violent bits as they were brutal and justified the 18 certificate. Probably prefer it without it all. Surprisingly no sex and why would one man do so much just cos he likes a girl? Also he really loves that jacket of his. This film isn't perfect but it is up there as one of my favourite films this year. 8/10

Re: Drive
Saw this at Notting Hill Gate Picturehouse. Film started 10 minutes late, is this the way things are going, screenings are not so prompt any more!
Too brutal for a Sunday morning for me. But gosh is Ryan Gosling a good actor! His portrayal of each character I have seen him in is so different, and in this film, again, I am mesmerised by him, one minute he is so tender and the next he is so tough, just by a look, and only speaking when necessary. It is also so beautifully filmed action thriller, a hypnotic beginning, and then it really draws you in. I also enjoyed Carey Mulligan's understated performance, very subtle and innocent.
8/10. Lost some marks from me because I didn't feel it necessary to show some of the extreme violence, which I had to look away!
