I thought this was a very entertaining portrayal of a very un-entertaining subject. Other than some lacks of realism previously mentioned it hit all the right buttons without any unecessary schmalzy rom for the sake of rom and plenty of com.
I reckon Skeletor deserves an oscar!

Hands up who recognised Mitch (the bald cancer patient with the glasses)?
He was M-M-M-Max Headroom.
Hands up who even remembers Max Headroom? - the disembodied computerized head on Channel 4.

I'll give this a good 7/10 from me.

thought this was pretty good very entertaining and great storyline
7.5/10 - could have been higher but there were quite a few annoying people around which ruined it at times

Saw this is Wandsworth last night. When I heard that this film was a comedy about cancer, I really didn't know what to expect. The whole idea was quite a gamble but all in all I was pleasantly surprised. Joseph Gordon-Levitt was perfectly cast as the shy cancer-sufferer, Adam, and his character was perfectly matched by his brash friend , Kyle (played by Seth Rogen) and his over-protective mother (beautifully played by Angelica Huston). The screenplay was skilfully written and there was a perfect match of vulgar comedy (in the same vein as Hangover) and genuine drama. The best scene of the film was after Adams had been encouraged to eat the "macaroons" by his fellow cancer sufferers after his first session of chemo.
I felt a lot of empathy for Adam as he battled his disease quietly and with dignity, always supported by his true friend, Kyle. A moving film which taught us all that even sick people need to let go and laugh.

I just checked my one and indeed you are right. It now appears for 21st November 2011. :shifty: Your best bet would be to call up Apollo Picadilly Circus and confirm with them whether they have a screening for 50/50 tonight or next week whilst explaining what has happened to the dates on your tickets.

The code was reposted earlier for 21/11, I just assumed it was for that date too - I didn't realise it had changed over completely. How odd.

Watched this yesterday at Holloway Odeon, the re-screening of the aborted one from last week. Gentle comedy on a tough topic, with good performances from the cast. Touching and quietly funny. 7/10

The Empire ones for next week went quick! Tried to get a couple for my friends! ;)
