ejwrank wrote: The Islington Duty Manager gave us some song and dance as to why she couldn't give us vouchers -- a total load of nonsense but she claimed as it was a SKY film they were responsible. I mentioned that SKY had no doubt pa*d them handsomely to have an entire screen and Vue should have got the technical side right. She suggested we write to Vue (don't worry little Duty Manager, we will) and see what they say. She tried to be nice but of course it is easy for her to say she would have compensated us with free tickets had we pa*d, when she knew she wouldn't have to do so.

I made a point of telling her that Islington Vue is my local cinema and as they always manage to mess up our free screenings (that is 3 so far in a few months), that I would never return as a p*ying customer and others might feel the same. So they will lose out in the long run--especially if everyone puts it on Twitter -- please tweet on my behalf!
Sorry to hear you had such an awful time ejwrank. I sure hope you get compensated with tickets (although Vue are extremely tight).

Again, disappointed at Vue Islington, who switch the lights on a full 15 minutes before the end of the film. When I complained before, they told me that they had to be switch on at end of film for health and safety but this is going too far. Other cinemas do not seem to have this problem. Lights do not go on until after the credits. Well I was up with ejwrank and Beate at the end to complain and again got fobbed off with the same excuses. She did ask for our names so I hope something is done.

A very good film, although quite slow and long. It is a family drama, psychological thriller, and a disaster film rolled into one, a very gripping and entertaining film. I was absorbed. The acting was really well done too, and I liked Jessica Chastain in this as well. She has been so different in every film I have seen her in. Shame last 15 minutes spoilt by full blaring lights on! 7/10

Quite full in Cardiff but we were in one of the smaller cinemas.
No noisey people here thank goodness - had my fair share of abuse from asking people to turn phones off and be quiet. I found the film a bit 'close to home' as to the subject - seen this happen for real and it is like wondering if the person is just becoming obsessive over little things until it all blows up.
Anyway back to the film -
A little long but I think it needed the pace. The spiral downwards of the father was so well acted as did Jessica Chastain. Thanks for reminding me she was in The Help. The little girl was excellent too, can't have been easy not to say anything in a film. The ending, I agree, should have stopped with him opening the doors. The rest is speculation but I think they went for an option open to interpretation.
7/10

To say... "If you had pa*d the film, we'd have refunded you AND given you complimentary tickets but as you hadn't, go f**k yourself and shut the f**k up."

Okay, perhaps a bit more politely but you get the gist. I'll be amazed if they offer you anything. Vue are extremely tight in giving out vouchers.

We'll see. I wrote a long complaint, ending it with
"Kindly get back to me asap with an appropriate offer of compensation for a spoiled movie for my partner and myself."

What a great sentence. I think I might use that in future complaints.

I've just done the same but you are right a_person, Vue are very tight. After a long correspondence in the past they finally sent me a gift token for £5. How generous!

That won't even be enough for one ticket. Thankfully i haven't been to Vue since The 02 changed to cineworld.

Oh no. God no. Please tell me they didn't answer an official complaint using txt language?! That's worth a further complaint!
