Saw this at Piccadilly last Monday. Nice to see Ejwrank, Sunny Saver, Beate and valda.
I loved this film. I cheered, laughed and cried. cannot say that about a lot of films. A nice treat.
Amazed with Will Poulter's performance. Very well done 9/10

Saw this tonight at the Courthouse Hotel to a half packed screening. First time at this venue and not sure I was really that comfortable in the seats. The screening started about 10 minutes late but the director Dexter Fletcher popped in as well as the producer of the film at the start. He introduced the film and a few words and was very humble about it and stated it took 2.5 yrs to make in all.

Well I have to say it was a really good film. The cast was great and the story was good. Quite gritty at times interspersed with a smattering of humour just to lighten the tone else it would have been all too depressing. The tone and pacing was spot on. The film focused on a part of society which most will fortunately not experience. It was a short film at 98 mins but it did not feel like it and it went very quickly. A great directorial debut. When I read that it was an East London gangster type of film I had cold sweats of a Guy Ritchie style film but it was more of a traditional filmed film. Nicely shot.

I have to say the Film poster to me is a bit misleading as gives an impression of an Irish comedy rather than an East London Gangster film. Especially with St Patrick's day just gone.

Yes the screening at the Courthouse Hotel was sadly not as packed as I thought it would be (previous Telegraph screenings I've been to have been). Which was a shame, particularly as Dexter Fletcher made the effort to introduce it.

I really loved the film and agree that the marketing for it has been a little misleading. Instead of the usual case of style over substance that you get with Guy Ritchie films, there was real heart here. With crucially as much attention pa*d to the family relationships as the criminal ones. So by the time you get to the final shots of the film, you are completely emotionally invested in the characters and actually care what happens to them. A strong cast all round also helped make this a memorable watch. Charlie Creed-Miles and Will Poulter both excellent as Bill and Dean with Sammy Williams stealing the film as Jimmy in much the same way he did in Attack the Block. The rest of the cast were solid too, although as much as I like Andy Serkis it did seem odd having him play a gang boss who only makes a brief appearance considering he played a very similar role in Brighton Rock.

The script was excellent with just the right amount of laughs among the more serious stuff and it was incredibly well directed by Fletcher, only briefly going for flashy film-making during a drug-cooking sequence. Also really impressed with George Richmond's cinematography which managed to make something very cinematic with an obviously low-budget.

Hopefully Wild Bill will manage to find an audience this weekend as it fully deserves to. A touching and impressive debut.

Very very touching story of redemption and broken family, served by a fantastic cast (young and older), a brilliant script and an excellent soundtrack. Exactly what I needed tonight!

(I surprised myself as I could understand almost everything they were saying, even the mumbling guy (Dicky?) from Kill List!)
