Headhunters
Re: Headhunters
Not acquainted with Jo Nesbo's novels, so this was a complete surprise and a rather enjoyable film with quite an unlikely hero, despite all his flaws.
Nice to see Beate and OH. Glad I chose the corridor row in the end although I lost count of how many got up in the middle of the film to go to the loo! Must have been all those free coffees that PH gives to members... (or at least they used to).

Re: Headhunters
I have just had the best day in York (more of that in the diary room soon, especially with the new Chocolate attraction!), including catching up with FMUKers in York and seeing Headhunters at the Cityscreen Picturehouse York. PeteYork, Allsinging and her daughter were so lovely and welcoming. We had a lovely time catching up.
The Picturehouse filled up pretty quickly, despite the sunny morning outside, with two seats left in the front row and a seat in the row in front of us and probably a seat at the back, as two ladies who were the last to come in, when the seats were pointed out to them by the usher and because they were not seats together and they did not want to sit at the front, left! What a waste of a good film!
The Marketing Manager then did the usual speel that these previews were members' benefits which they hope to do many more and hope that we would enjoy the film and hope that we would tell everyone about it etc. He then sat down on the one empty seat in front of our row and stayed to watch the film with us.
What a fab and thrilling film. Really enjoyed this, OH too. I always like foreign films and the subtitling does not bother me. The audience was very well behaved here. 10/10

Re: Headhunters
Strange about the subtitling, as until I read a few comments here, I'd honestly forgotten it had been a subtitled film and had to think back. It obviously makes no impression on me, which is good, because I'd never see it as a drawback.

Re: Headhunters
Not really to a problem to read subtitles to keep up with the story but had to keep my eyes shut for some gory scences. All in all not a bad fine, entertaining at timesHorseknight wrote:I'm going to watch it tomorrow morning. Can't wait :)
Re: Headhunters
I loved this - reminds me of Kill List without the bad ending.
Although, I definitely had a delicate stomach after - the combination of tense jumpy scenes and the gore did not bode well!

Re: Headhunters
Caught this yesterday at Stratford Picturehouse and, having only read around 20 percent of the book before going, I must say I was pleasantly surprised with how it panned out. Definitely the most unpredictable film I've seen this year and very, very enjoyable. 8/10 review will follow soon

Looks like almost universal praise for this from all of us. No haters. That's unusual. Yay! Definitely pleasantly surprised. Hey - I bet that misery on Film 2012 will not like it. He hates everything it seems!

Re: Headhunters
saw it at Bath, a few too many tickets so they offered them free Muppets and blamed the Guardian for overbooking. I was gripped from the start and after 10 minutes decided it was 10/10. I had not seen the trailer (saw it later) and glad as all the scenes had major impact. I know few items are perfect but so many here are only giving it 8. We have to recognise that within the limitations of a film this could not really be improved upon. It was so subtle as well without too many telegraphed clues. The actors and director espacially should win awards. The blink was masterful.
Re: Headhunters
Saw it in Edinburgh yesterday. Not to sure going in but after seeing it agree with everything that has been said. Glad I kept trying the codes and did not give up.
