Watched this at Manchester Showcase. What a lovely film really enjoyed Ewan's performance, how can he still be handsome in a cardigan? Kristin Scott Thomas was brilliant so comical I'm still smiling about her now.
Where was the Sheikhs castle it looks so familiar? I've tried searching but can't find it.
Lovely to see Yogi and OH.
Really enjoyed this 8/10

Kristin Scott Thomas stole the show - and she looked like she was really enjoying herself. The scenery was very interesting, I wonder if they actually filmed it in the Yemen. As for the story, some funny moments but I think I enjoyed the book more. Maybe Ewan McGregor wasn't quite nerdy enough?

We were early at Shepherd's Bush so could watch everyone arriving laden with huge quantities of food and drinks.

It was filmed in Morocco not Yemen, probably too dodgy there at the moment.

Saw it at Vue Sheperds Bush BTW, first time there with Sky.

Watched this with the Mrs at a 90% full Cheshire Oaks tonight.
Wasn't expecting much from it to be honest & was more than pleasantly surprised.
It had a good mix of characters with an interesting story & some funny moments.
We will definitely be recommending this to friends.

Thanks to Sunny Saver I had the pleasure to see this at the premiere at Kensington Odeon. Slightly wired experience, we were rushed by the red carpet up and up to screen 3, so didn't get to see any of the exciting attendees.
I really enjoyed the movie. Kristin Scott Thomas was fabulous - stole the show and as for Ewan McGregor I could just stare at him all day. I couldn't believe how successively nerdy Ewan looked, it's not exactly his forte. The film has a slightly old fashionable feel to it, great story. I am a huge fan of Lasse Hallstrom, What's Eating Gilbert Grape is one of my favorite movies.
9/10

I won tix to this premiere through @YahooOmgUK twitter comp and was really excited as I so wanted to meet Ewan!

What a premiere, it was not! It was in a word, dreadful, unlike the film. The PR for comp winners for the premiere at Kensington Odeon stank. Treated like second class. Rushed in and hidden away in a pokey tiny screening room. Ewan was on the red carpet and when I tried to take a photo, the security was down on me like a ton of bricks, shouting at me, no taking photos!

I should have stuck with Sky with their free preview screening at Vue Islington, nice big screen, lovely comfy seating, and not have to hang around for an hour, in the semi darkness of a small airless screening room, before the film started, while the stars and their guests drank and chatted away, enjoying themselves outside, before going into the larger Screen 1 for their screening. I went outside the screening room into the waiting area with celini and funthing, as feeling a little claustrophobic, for some air, only to be told by a very bossy security guy to stand in the corner, like naughty children being told off, which I felt did not help my situation of not getting stuck in a small space, and then was pointed out several times to numerous security guards as if we were some kind of a nuisance for wanting to stand outside the screen room. Very unwelcomely treated.

Finally, presumably, he sent the Boss of the security over, to tell us to go into the screening room. The film then started just after 7pm, no one came to introduce the film, as with other premieres, shoddy PR again!

Thank goodness the film was a gem. Lighthearted, funny, charming, full of whimsy, with some wonderful and beautiful shots of landscapes. Ewan MacGregor (did not disappoint me) and Emily Blunt (loved her character's double barrelled name) and Amr Waked (as quite the dishy sheik with pearls of wisdom), were wonderful, had great rapport, and Kristin Scott Thomas (always a joy to watch), enjoys a fun part as the press secretary to the Prime Minister, chatting with him on Instant Messenger - classic! Dialogue was sharp and witty. Agree with fetta can stare at Ewan all day. Although one sub plot, with Emily's soldier boyfriend was a bit far fetched though.

I will definitely go and see it again! o/

Premiere 0/10, film 10/10
