Saw this last night at a packed Vue West End. I loved Borat, liked Bruno less and found that The Dictator did not live up to my expectations at all. It simply wasn't as clever as Borat - maybe this is because the real-life dictators (Saddam Hussein, Ghadafi, Assad etc) are just a bit too real (and scary) to have me rolling in the aisles. If you want to watch a worthwhile film about dictators (and their families) suggest you watch The Devil's Double. Whist there was some very funny parts, I detest humour that relies on crudity or sheer bad taste. I thought the bit about the video game shooting the Israeli Athletes at the Munich games really scraped the bottom of the barrel. I also thought the film was incredibly short. It was meant to start at 6:45 however the actual start was nearer 7:00 and we were out in the street by 8:15. Sasha Baron Cohen had obviously run out of jokes by that time. My rating - 4/10

what bothered me is that p*ying for a film that has humour that we covered well when we were all 13 is a pretty bad show for a so called comedian. I am all for enjoying the laughs when they come.

neeverthless, the movie had a few moments. Thats why it should have been in skeetch comedy, not a movie, where Bruno, Ali G and tbh even Borat should have stayed (Borat is ok but certainly not all that and gasses out after the first half faster than Bernard Hopkins). But yeh we were all doing 'Borat' and 'Dictator' impressions in playgrounds before Cohen was even a teenager.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?

Had a weird time at the premiere last night. There was no atmosphere at all and I'd say it was one of the least fan friendly premieres I've ever been at. Cohen arriving in character was expected and being towed in on the clamped car was cute but he was facing the media side during the entire thing, so that was kind of deflating. Still, I was able to get some decent shots once things settled into the normal premiere format but my god, were there ever loads of Z-list "celebs" there. Though in fairness, some of them were quite fit.

Indeed quite a few ladies (SBC's wife is damn fit!) with extra short dresses, pulling them down as they walked down the red carpet... ladies, this is everything but sexy!

I was really looking forward to this movie but I have to admit I was a bit disappointed. It had some good jokes, in all there were a lot more misses than hits!

I have never seen Bruno or Borat, for a reason. Seeing even the trailer or snippets on TV completely put me off SBC and I had no desire to see his films. However, curiosity got the better of with The Dictator and despite some really cringe-worthy and/or disgusting moments I found myself laughing more often than not. Even when I knew I really shouldn't...

The personal introduction by the general at the premiere was quite fun too and the opening dedication was brilliant. 7/10

Not today, I only saw the Metro yesterday with the extra pages. What does it say? (can you snap a pic?)

I was at the Odeon Liverpool One to see the Premiere - first one I've ever seen.......and probably the last - it didn't help that Alex Zane is absolutely appalling at interviewing people, and also that I didn't recognise a single 'celebrity'............apart from Abie Titmus...........oh aye, and Vanessa!.........to be fair, that's probably cos I'm an old get and I'd prefer to watch paint dry than 'reality' programs!

Anyway, onto the film, and although there were a few belly laughs - crudeness and bad taste don't offend me that much..........luckily! They were quite few and far between. Borat and Bruno were much funnier in my opinion
