Having seen both ladies in all their full-frontal glory I was surprised that Matthew McC didn't grace us with a Michael Fassbender demonstration in his naked scene. It was edited so we saw nothing. Not that it bothered me in the least. I had already been traumatised by the "rugs"! Haha.

I believe male full frontal nudity gets you an un-necessary 18 (17) rating in the UK/US...

edit: just checked Killer Joe certification and it's actually a 18... I really don't get this country!

There were some funny bits, but I found the graphic violence, creepy sex and constant striving to be shocking or edgy quite tiresome.

Maybe there's something in there, but I'm sure Fargo era Coens would have made more of it. In fact the best gag by miles looks like the Coens popped in for a day to direct, stole the show and then let Friedkin get on with whatever he was trying to do.

I suppose it's trying to be a dark comedy, but I think there's a big difference between dark and explicit.

The cast were actually pretty good, though I didn't b*y Thomas Haden Church as a dumb redneck, overall I didn't like it.

This was weird but strangely engrossing. We laughed a lot in the back rows. The violence was too much for me though. And what sort of ending was that, it was all so extreme. A mad film and sickening. A good job I never liked KFC anyway, and to be fed it tonight was gross! 7/10

Nice to see celini, funthing and shmile tonight at PCC. We also had a clip of the director welcoming comp winners to the PCC, and introducing the film, he said it was a dark comedy and if we didn't like it don't blame him, as he didn't write it!

This is one of the best films I've seen. Dark with some shocking scenes but so very funny.
I knew going in to expect violence but didn't know exactly what to expect. Some parts were totally unexpected both in their execution and who did what towards the end.
It's great to see Matthew McConaughy in such a strong role.
This was the perfect antithesis to some of the recent poor comedies that have been unleashed on us. Yes I do mean Friends with Kids.

Saw this in a busy Braehead cinema . . . well, what can I say that has not been said already???.... I think the comedy, dark or not, was in short supply and the film should not really be sold on that card. Yes, there are a few laugh out loud moments eg the jacket sleeve but not many more. I think that the film would have been better if it had been shot as a real film with the sam basic story-line but miss out all the odd stuff re rugs, etc. The twists of the story could probably have made a fairly good film if but was wasted by some of the unnecessary/odd sex scenes. As with others, I felt no empathy with any of the characters though I was uncomfortable with the graphic attack on Sharla (Gina Gershon).
As always, one of my judges on a film is whether I would have gladly pa*d . . . mmm(thinking).....NO! I'm glad it was free.

Disturbing. My eyes cannot unsee this. It had a few funny moments but the film was definitely more 'dark' than 'comedy'. 6/10.

I spent most of the film anticipating the KFC scene...

I have to agree with Mrs McG. It would have been better without certain scenes. Some of it was just plain weird. Shock for sake of shock?
