Sorry for the late review:
The premiere was at the Mayfair Hotel, when I arrived, the road was lined with people on either side of the hotel, but when I spoke to a PR lady in the foyer, I was told it was meant to be a private screening, so there would not be any red carpet etc, and the stars will not be arriving at the front of the hotel, they were going to be entering via the Crystal Room at the other side of the hotel. So I thought there would be a lot of disappointed fans outside. Anyway, as there were quite a crowd building up they may have thought otherwise, and by 6.10pm a truck came with the barriers and red carpet! And soon after the Dream Idols came and posed with everyone in the foyer than went out to all the screaming waiting fans behind the barriers.
We then hurried to the side entrance to the hotel, as we needed to be in by 6.30pm, and down to the Crystal Room, where we were greeted with wine and all the journalists and paparazzi were already lined up meeting the soap celebs that were arriving - from TOWIE (Ricky and Jessica), Corrie (Brooke Vincent), Emmerdale and Waterloo Road (Roxanne Pallet - looked stunning in a red off the shoulder dress) and Eastenders (Jacqueline Jossa, so pretty, and Tony Discipline). Dream Idols gave us three sets of shows, with breaks in between to top up our drinks, and sent all the girls wild. Louie Spence chatted and posed with fans, as well as Perez Hilton, and Joe McElderry from X-Factor and Michelle Heath from Liberty X. Then the stars of the film came, Channing Tatum and Matthew McConaughey, who also gave an intro before the film, and came right down to the front row, to tease the girls there asking for a £1. We had a lot of fun. That's how premieres should be for fans. Other PR please note!
What can I say about the film, it was one long hen night party, which included the audience - they were chatting and texting, whooping and laughing. Lots of going to the toilet as well during the film, as everyone had copious amount of drink before the screening. We also had popcorn on the seats to continue the party.
The film also was not just about male strippers and a male club, there was comedy and there was drama, . Although there were lots of really energetic and saucy strip acts from Channing and Matthew, which was played tongue in cheek, and really over the top, it was hilarious! Then during a particularly quiet and emotional bit in the film, a girl at the front shouted out "She's a minger!!" which started everyone talking and laughing again! A very weird private screening and felt like we were all part of the party at the club where Magic Mike worked. The cast were terrific from Alex Pettyfr to Cody Horn, who had great chemistry with Channing Tatum, who proved he can do comedy as well as drama. Matthew McConaughey steals the show as he did in Killer Joe (I shouted out Killer Joe when he was being interviewed directly in front of me,
