Late arrival of film at Glasgow so started 20 minutes late though we were advised of situation early on.
Again, film shown in the tiniest of cinemas, only 65 seats.
I must admit I did enjoy the film though at one point I thought it could be used as a teaching aid for trainee counsellors!
Tommy Lee Jones was excellent as the grumpy husband who didn't want any changes to his life. TLJ looking more like Walter Matthau every film!
Meryll Streep was very good as the anguished wife who felt very lonely and unloved despite being married.
Really odd to see Steve Carrell as the therapist . . . no jokes!
I certainly could imagine the film making some couples question "where they are" and "where they are going in life".
I don't think the film would have great appeal to a young audience as there is little "action". In fact, given most of the film involves 3 characters, it could easily have been adapted from a play.
I would not have minded p*ying to see this film but delighted to see it for free!

Saw this at a nearly full Southampton Odeon,started with only sound and no picture but was soon sorted and the film restarted from the begining. Great film very amusing loved Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones characters and the story was superb. A good feel film. 7/10

It is a really good antidote to mindless summer blockbusters, I really hope they sure more films like that during the summer time.

I went to Southampton but they wouldn't let me in said it was full.. tried tactics like they only hand out enough tickets for each individual, but she would not be swayed, I said I wasted my journey from portsmouth but no budge, and it was only 6.30pm. Gutted that it wasn't even full. Went to picturehouse in end to use my comp tickets to see Bourne legacy.

My sentiments precisely - and yes, if only there were more exceptions to this seemingly invariable rule! But those of us who were able to see this have shown that there is another audience out there...

Saw this last night at a packed Panton street. saw Valda, funthing and canadian_turtle. Great to see you all

What a lovely heartwarming story. Meryl Street and Tommy Lee Jones were fantastic and played their roles so well but then again they are fantastic actors.

Really enjoyed this film though the trailer did show the best bits. There were a few laugh out lout moments but I thought it was true to life and would appeal to a lot of people.

Would probably see this again in a few months time.

We loved this, fantastic script and so beautifully portrayed with humour and honesty. So much conveyed through facial expressions and body language, just amazing performances from the two leads and even Steve Carrell was quite subtle.

It definitely could have been a stage play though we'd have missed the gorgeous 'Maine' town and scenery (don't think it was actually shot in Maine!) and could have managed without the credits epilogue scenes.

But overall extremely well crafted and highly enjoyable.

Well written, well acted and good dose of humour. 7/10.
