[BLOG] Now Is Good

Saw this at Covent Garden tonight.

I wasn't sure about the film initially, but I thought it then picked up quite quickly and unsurprisingly, got more emotional towards the end. There were a lot of sniffles during the film and when the credits rolled, there was one collective super sniffle as most of the audience blew their noses and wiped back tears.

The brother had some excellent lines, I enjoyed the one about going on holiday and also:

[spoiler]Right at the end, where he said to his sister that he didn't mind if she haunted him. It was the right mix of funny and heartbreaking.[/spoiler]

Adam was almost too perfect, but it was interesting to have the mother almost totally incapable of coping with Tessa's illness. It just helped balance things out and make the whole story more believable. We nearly missed the film tonight, very glad we made it in the end.

My first screening via FMUK...Saw it last night in Edinburgh - Wester Hailes. Thought the film was very good, 8/10! My OH couldnt go so i took my daughter...who is 13 in december (small for her age!!) This film was a 12A afterall...But she is banned from drinking slush puppies during a film! I found her nipping out to the loo twice rather annoying!!!

Wow, I didn't go in with any expectations as I hadn't heard anything about the film, but I came out weeping, not just tearful, but full on sobbing, as was the big butch man next to me. It's a great film, but maybe not one to go and see if you want cheering up. I'd give it 8/10.

No idea why I thought it was a good idea to watch this film as it's currently hitting very close to home for me and I was a weeping mess by the end.

It was beautiful though. Loved the drawn opening, the shots of Brighton (which really want to make me go back asap!), and all the actors were excellent. The little brother definitely had the best lines, but it was the father that really stood out to me as a character, especially towards the end.

Not really an original story since there are plenty of films about people with terminal illness falling in love but I thought this was still a decent watch and certainly activated the tear ducts in my eyes.

Fanning held the film together well with good supporting work from Williams and Considine. I found the character of Adam a bit one dimensional.

saw this last night
i wasnt really expecting much from this, a bit emotional and i loved the little brother. but didnt think it was anything special or original nevertheless it wasnt the worst the movie ever
