Here's my full writeup. Went to the West India Quay screening on Monday. The only real problem I had was that a guy with the worst damn B.O. I've had to deal with in a long time sat next to me. He sat there alternately playing with his phone and wheezing his way through the film. I wanted to hose him off with bleach! Showering only takes five minutes dammit!
Also, there was a weird thing where something was being projected onto the audience, but it wasn't too much of a distraction.
Anyway, the film was alright.

Suffered a similar fate at Shaftesbury Ave on Monday night. It was horrible!mrflunchy wrote:The only real problem I had was that a guy with the worst damn B.O. Here's my take on Argo: http://londonfilmfanatiq.com/2012/10/25/argo/
I pretty much loved it. Not as exciting on a second watch, but that's how political thrillers go.

102 Different free films seen in 2010 plus 2 repeat viewings and a few tv show screenings... not too shabby. Thanks to everyone for their contributions here.

Re: Argo
What a good day I had first the Sapphires and now Argo.
Brilliant, just saw it at a BAFTA screening. There was a lot of laughter with the "in" jokes from people in the film industry (BAFTA members are industry people, for those who may not know). A tense, thriller brilliantly filmed and acted right to the very end.
Another good one from Ben Affleck, very exciting and suspenseful, like The Town. 10/10

Re: Argo
I have just noticed that the Cineworld Greenwich screening tonight apparently starts at 6.30pm instead of the ususal 7pm. What fresh evil is this?

Re: Argo
What an amazing movie... Tense throughout the whole film, I had no idea what was going to happen and was on the edge of my seat. I loved the little touches of humour, although in the middle of the film, it dragged slightly.

A horse walks into a bar and the bartender asks, "Why the long face?"
A pony walks into the bar and whispers, "I'll have a beer, please." The barkeeper asks, "Why are you whispering?".
"I'm a little hoarse."

Re: Argo
Some of the tension is lost on second viewing but it is still compelling stuff.
One of my favourite films of 2012.
