I've been debating whether to see it-- I love the cast, but the trailers and reviews I've seen haven't convinced me that I'd care about the characters, you know?

I have mixed feelings about this. I didn't hate it but think it could have been so much better. The film is quite heavy, it's hard to engage with the story or the characters, and it casually starts quite a few subplots that are never resolved.

There are some beautiful moments, particularly with the score and cinematography, and I can't fault the performances, but just felt the film lacked a spark. It had all the material to be spectacular but it left me a bit cold.

Saw it last week and for once, I kind of liked Marion Cotillard. But I still have mixed feelings about the film. It was good, heartbreaking, but there's a BUT. Can't put my finger on it but there's definitely one.
