I thought the same, because of this + the look on her brother's face at some moment (even though he cried, there was something weird in his look)
The Sparrow wrote:This was a wonderful film but did anybody else think that maybe the little girl had been the
victim of sexual abuse? Not by her teacher but possibly her father or brother or his friend?
It was her reaction to seeing the penis that made me wonder. The look on her face when she fell to her knees made me think she had been abused in some way
.
I saw it yesterday, as great as I expected, even though Thomas Bo Larsen with a beard looks like Chuck Norris

It spreads so well the feeling of being trapped, judged, already put as a monster because someone said so (a child, a psychologist, a teacher...), and the difficulty to put a doubt on a child's words and re-change your mind about someone after this kind of event.
The only thing that bugged me is that a child psychologist is not supposed to give 'clues' in the questions they ask, such as 'did they do it there', 'did they do this or that?'. Questions should be simple or give choice of answers, as otherwise it can easily play with a child's imagination... Which is what happens in the film as the kid obviously wanted to go and play outside and was angry at Lucas.
I was scared that the end would be a stupid 'OK that's fine we're friends again' one, so the
'Some of us will never trust you anymore anyway' one was perfect to me! Well done!
I'm also happy as I did understand a few Danish words that are close to Swedish!
I give it 10/10 as I'm a huge Vinterberg fan so it was easy to please me

And now I'm gonna re-watch Festen :)
