It was her reaction to seeing the penis that made me wonder. The look on her face when she fell to her knees made me think she had been abused in some way
.
I thought the same, because of this + the look on her brother's face at some moment (even though he cried, there was something weird in his look)
I saw it yesterday, as great as I expected, even though Thomas Bo Larsen with a beard looks like Chuck Norris :p
It spreads so well the feeling of being trapped, judged, already put as a monster because someone said so (a child, a psychologist, a teacher...), and the difficulty to put a doubt on a child's words and re-change your mind about someone after this kind of event.

The only thing that bugged me is that a child psychologist is not supposed to give 'clues' in the questions they ask, such as 'did they do it there', 'did they do this or that?'. Questions should be simple or give choice of answers, as otherwise it can easily play with a child's imagination... Which is what happens in the film as the kid obviously wanted to go and play outside and was angry at Lucas.

I was scared that the end would be a stupid 'OK that's fine we're friends again' one, so the
'Some of us will never trust you anymore anyway' one was perfect to me! Well done!
I'm also happy as I did understand a few Danish words that are close to Swedish!

I give it 10/10 as I'm a huge Vinterberg fan so it was easy to please me o/
And now I'm gonna re-watch Festen :)

Better late than never, but I finally managed to catch this last night. It is a quality piece of film-making. It's not something I would want to see again as I found it quite upsetting at some points but Mads Mikkelsen gives a sensational performance. 8/10.

I went to see this movie with Livi92 today @BFI Southbank and I think that this movie is a must see and it gets a 8.5/10 from me

Storyline:
A teacher lives a lonely life, all the while struggling over his son's custody. His life slowly gets better as he finds love and receives good news from his son, but his new luck is about to be brutally shattered by an innocent little lie.

Yeah, I second the 8.5/10. It's such a good movie. Its deep and really makes you think. I went through so many different emotions during the film - angry, sadness, frustration.. It's certainly not a light-hearted film, but the acting and the storyline are superb! Would definitely recommend it :D

Just caught with this on Netflix.

Wow! I feel like I've been holding my breath for two hours and my heart is still pounding.

The performances were superb and the film was excellent at portraying the whole situation getting out of control and the tension ratcheting up to unbearable levels.

As others have said its very unHollywoody and all the better for it and the ending was pitched just right, acting as both a conclusion of sorts, but leaving plenty of questions.

Brilliant, worth seeking out.
