Django Unchained
Re: Django Unchained
Definitely worth a watch! Christoph Waltz is class.
Can be a little bit bloody/gruesome but it is a Tarantino, and I highly rate it!

Re: Django Unchained
Saw the entire film at last.
Great stuff, never too long, though the last 15 minutes might seem cliched and hurried I am not sure how else you could end a movie like this. The one thing I didn't like is the movie's reliance on Django turning from life slave to impossibly good gunfighter over the New Year holidays, he makes Josey Wales look like a kid with a potato gun. But I guess its churlish to try to ground a QT movie too much to reality.

Re: Django Unchained
Saw it the day it came out, loved it. Leo outdoes himself with every role he takes. I'm not normally a Tarantino fan, but this was a really great film.

Re: Django Unchained
I love the first hour of this film, thought Christoph Waltz was fantastic in his role (Waltz is Class) sadly though i think it went downhill rather speedily after Waltz's departure, as for Tarantino and his part, i found it self indulgent and unnecessary! what could have been a really really good movie ruined toward the end 5/10 for little old me x

Re: Django Unchained
Finally, saw this yesterday too!
Used my gift voucher prize of a Sunday Film Club at the Soho Hotel, which I won last year through twitter, to include a meal. Waited a whole year for a film that I have not seen!

Loved it too, until Waltz's departure (he didn't deserve the story to go that way in my opinion, he made the film, I think it would work just as well, with the partnership continuing!) and it was too long! And as expected with Tarantino films lots of violence and ketchup!
8/10
Shame the meal was not up to scratch. It was a set menu and quite average for a posh hotel, although the starters were good. The mains and desserts were poor, quite bland, and the service was bad. After the starters, waited half an hour to be told, that my mains was not available, then offered an alternative, and then another long wait!

Re: Django Unchained
I used a voucher and saw it at Vue Westfield Scene. This would have cost me an eye popping £19.00
Its the first and problaby the last time I'll go to a Scene Screen. The only difference I noticed was reclining seats, a table thing beside every seat, and a nice bar area to sit and wait in.
So anyway there was only about 5 people in the cinema which was fab ( I could have done without having to chose my seat
, I still sat in another seat though
)
I did enjoy this a lot, but still felt a bit uncomfortable with the way the slaves were treated, especially Mandingo Fighting - I couldn't watch that. I know its film, but these things and worse happened for real
.
All the main and supporting artists were great, apart from the QT
'Just Say NO!' It was great to see people like Don Johnson and Sam Jackson reveling in their roles, and Leo Di Caprio is getting better and better.
As others say, it sort of lost its way once Cristoph Waltz left the scene, and could have been a bit shorter.
8/10
