I had a really lovely time and enjoyed the film, thanks to claire for her company. Hugh Jackman was so nice and had brought his mum.

Loved the scenery and sets/CGI. All the scenes looked straight out of a graphic novel, the only things missing were the Biff! and Thwack! (do they still do that?) Crazy fight on the bullet train and so much weather!

No idea what the 3D added though we were right in the middle so should have got the benefit.

Excellent FMUK turnout but such a shame there were plenty of empty seats.

I saw the trailer for this on Monday and though it looked awful but I couldn't pass up the chance of seeing 2+ hours of shirtless Hugh Jackman and possibly get treated to chocolate at the premiere so I really did want to see it (and I got a chance to thanks to the generosity of a fellow board member).

Perhaps it was my extreme low expectation but I thoroughly enjoyed this. After being incredibly disappointed by recent other superhero flicks (Man of Steel put me to sleep, Iron Man did not manage to make me crack a smile) I was entertained from start to finish with a decent story, likeable new characters (loved the two Asian girls), plenty of shirtless Hugh Jackman and some really cool action scenes (especially on top of a train). The only things I didn't like where the robot and the dream sequences (despite my initial enthusiasm for the return of the character within them). Overall though a solid and entertaining film.

And where The Wolverine was mostly a Japanese style action flick, the FANTASTIC post-credits scene brought it right back to the X-Men franchise with a really cool reveal for the fans that sets up the story for the next installment in the series.

7.5/10

This was definitely better than I was expecting, and I enjoyed it more than Man Of Steel. There were some scenes I found completely pointless, but then there were scenes with Hugh Jackman shirtless, so it evened out. I wouldn't necessarily care to see it again, but it was fun and easy entertainment. That plus Hugh Jackman being totally adorable when talking to the audience and good company made for a nice evening out. But I do have to say, my fave scene of the whole 2+ hours movie? The mid-credit set up for the next X-Men. It was awesome and I can't wait to see what/how!

What is this secret scene that everyone is talking about? What happens?

Saw it this morning. It was good, whilst Logan was in the Yukon it was fascinating. Then they flew to Tokyo and it got boring real quick, which oddly is the only thing that's fast in the whole film. A dull dull slog, both super serious and full of silly stuff like the robot samurai. How it got a 12a is a mystery, but it should have gone harder, adults only, it's required with acid and swords.
A 4/10 at best. Bad 3D as well. Ugly.

Really enjoyed this premiere at Empire Leicester Square, as we were allowed to wander around on the red carpet taking photos for much longer than we are normally able to, and no hostile security rushing you in. Met Hugh, the two Japanese heroines, and Jenni Falconer (Good Morning) and Kimberley Wyatt (ex Pussycat Dolls), who turns up at every premiere! On our seats were the obligatory bottle of water and choc bar, but a rather small one (although I made up for it, as after the film, bumped into funthing and we went for a hunt, and I managed to find 6 bars!).

Saw c_t and jeanelle when picking up tickets. Nice to see so many FMUK winners. While waiting for the doors to open chatted to caitlinmorton and asamaic, and it turned out they were in the seats next to ours. Then met up with ritamistry and her OH, but they had seats at the opposite end, front row, so you could stretch your legs and have an unhindered view of the sub-titiles, whereas in the second row B, I had several heads in my way!

The 3D seems to work sitting so close as it felt like the whole screen popped out and we were part of the movie! The bullet train scene was fantastic, but the rest was rather predictable, but I nevertheless enjoyed it cos of Hugh, the strange story but a good one, and the Japanese culture. I would see again! great action, fab actresses, and Hugh, what more can you want!

The scene in between the credits should be waited for, it was delicious and delightful.

8/10
