Ain't Them Bodies Saints

#1 Post by funthing29 » Fri Sep 06, 2013 10:23 pm

I thought this had a promising opening but quickly dwindled away. I left thinking 'what was the point?'

The setting looked authentic but the story felt rather bland without much characterisation or excitement. Not to mention all the indecipherable dialogue, so much mumbling and poor enunciation that I struggled to understand some of the things said.

6/10.

Went to see this yesterday & although it wasn't quite as good as I'd hoped it would be I still really enjoyed it.

Narratively it's very slow but as I liked the cast, their performances, the setting & the soundtrack this flick didn't drag at all from my perspective, so although I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to others overall it gets a 7/10 from me...

Kinda looking forward to seeing it, though it looks like a mix of several other films you've already seen, both in terms of plot and visuals. Is that a fair comment or will I be surprised?

Yep there's nothing particularly original about this film so if you've liked similar movies in the past you'll probably like this one as well...
