Thoroughly enjoyed this, great story and plenty of action. However I suspect that the reviews could be a bit mixed as I would imagine that it won't be to everyone's taste.
It did feel at times as if they were trying to get through the levels on a video game and the beach scenes were like a futuristic Saving Private Ryan.

Great fun, really enjoyed this.

First 10 minutes or so were spoiled a bit by a late arriver next to me rustling around in her apparently bottomless bag for bag after bag of snacks.

In fact...
[spoiler]why did Tom end up being thrown in with the troops? I kept expecting some double cross plot line or thinking I'd missed something when he talked to the general[/spoiler]

Back from Cineworld Glasgow. Yip this was fun. A cross between Groundhog Day and Saving Private Ryan on the beach. I can see why it won't be everyone's cup of tea. However I liked it. And how toned is Emily Blunt! 7/10

Entertaining enough for action sequences and special effects but full of plot holes and lacking any decent characterisation. I also thought the 3D could have been put to better use. Is it just me or does the ending make no sense??

Not what I was expecting. Tom Cruise is doing well considering he's 247. Maybe he really does die everyday and wakes up aged 35?!
It was ok, but no more than that. I'm fed up of movies with spangly cgi monsters.
It was a mash up of too many films on a Groundhog Day theme.

6/10 as it was slightly better than mediocre.

Edinburgh was full, but 4 people walked out. 2 after 10 mins.

The Times ads at the start were deafening in Edinburgh, people had their hands over their ears.

I had no expectations, but thought this was dire - I'd agree with feeling 'irritated'. Reliving the same weak scenes time and again did not work for me - cliche after cliche just felt like torture. If it were a computer game (and it does feel like that), I would have turned it off for being dull and monotonous.

I was checking my watch after about 45 minutes, and really should have left then. What a shocking waste of money. Certainly, it had none of the charm of Groundhog Day.

Normally I think Emily Blunt can do no wrong, but not here. Her accent jumped around - don't know whether that was intentional, but I was beyond caring. But she looked as though she spends her non-acting time in the Pilates studio.

Weirdly, I thought that Tom Cruise was looking more and more like Pierce Brosnan.

A bit of Groundhog Day with actions and weapons. Was not expecting anything like this as I had not even seen the poster. I thought it was entertaining, with a good dose of humour and a sharp script. The repeated scenes are gradually changed to keep them fresh and keep the pace moving. Also, to give the audience time away for the battlefield. It's also nice to see a female take the lead in a blockbuster. Blunt and Cruise work well together. I think the ending is very much open to interpretation and people will be scratching their heads about it. All in all, a decent summer blockbuster for me. 7/10
