Re: Street Dance 3D
just seen this at newcastle, not very well attended maybe due to the 6pm start but the crowds andrews and i predicted to flood in at 6.30 didn't happen. Loads of strange faces about tho including Preston1990, it was a pleasure to finally meet you sir. Anyway onto the film, although i most definately wasn't the target audience in entertainment terms i enjoyed it more than tuesday's offering. Dancing was well executed but perhaps a tad repetitive towards the end. Very good 3d. So good it hurt my eyes and i thought the soundtrack matched the film very well. My 3 nieces and nephews gave it 7/10 and seeing that they are the target audience i'm sticking with that. Oh and guess who got the munchers in front again! Sushi this time, *sigh*

Re: Street Dance 3D
A thoroughly enjoyable film - great music and dancing bound together by a storyline that was mediocre. It was a case of "We've got fabulous music and dancing - now we need a story - can someone write us a story please?" Get over that, and you will all enjoy the energy and wonderful action in this dance movie.
The 3D effects were not overdone, and when they were used they were very good indeed. It was a pleasure to watch such a good British film with a young, lively cast. The scenes in London where the kids were doing their street dancing were a good advertisement for the country - hey it's England - it's not raining!
I am anxious to give my feedback to showfilmfirst. We were in one of the largest screens at the Gate. On my way out I made a point of asking one of the staff what the capacity of the screen was. 330 came the reply. I think about 80 seats were taken, and I might be a touch generous with my estimation there. Given that so many of our North East members could not get tickets, I think it's a travesy of bad management, which showfilmfirst will need to address.
7.5/10 from me.

Re: Street Dance 3D
I saw this today at the Charlotte Street Hotel. I had very low expectations but my bf and I found the film entertaining. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't p*y to watch it in the cinema but I'd probably watch it at home if was being shown on TV.
I agree that the storyline was mediocre and the acting wasn't good either (I think the blond girl was a particularly bad actress). But I do enjoy watching street dancing although I think the choreographies could have been better. I've seen more original and entertaining dance routines on "Randy Jackson Presents: America's Best Dance Crew".

Re: Street Dance 3D
I saw it at Charlotte Street hotel. we got there about 6.15 and a rather rude doorman told us we had to wait as the film started at 7pm. we hung around for a while then saw other people going so we tried again, when he begrudgingly let us go down! The screening room was small only 74 seats. The film suddenly started about 6.40 and there were about 20 empty seats.... such a shame when people want tickets and are told its sold out. Anyway, I thought at first it was going to be one of the worst films I'd seen but I got into the dancing and forgot about the woeful story. Great dancing, a lot of the teams from the recent TV shows were in it in cameos, including the sweet little 6 year old Akai who won the Sky dance comp, Flawless and Diversity. God I wish I were 30 years younger and could dance!!
As to the 3D again I wasn't that impressed. As a wearer of glasses, having a second heavy pair on top was awkward. In the end,I could hardly breathe through my nose and had to keep taking them off.
7/10

I didn't like the glasses either. They were heavy and after a while I had this weird feeling on my nose.valda wrote: As to the 3D again I wasn't that impressed. Re: Street Dance 3D
I saw this at an outrageously empty Gate tonight, there must have been well in excess of 200 empty seats in the screen. It was lovely to meet Spanner for the first time who was there with Andrews. They had kindly saved some premier seats for me and my offspring. Thank you ladies!
I enjoyed the film tremendously – it’s a real feel good film and British to boot. The first ever British one to be made in 3D apparently.
As others have already mentioned the plot is a little weak, predictable and contrived but it matters not one jot because this film is just a thinly disguised showcase for some great music and fantastic dancing.
They’ve taken all those first rate streetdance acts from the Britain’s got Talent TV show and put them together in this film. George Sampson along with the Diversity and Flawless crews are all in it. Paired up with an awesome music soundtrack (especially the raunchy “Champion Sound” from Fatboy Slim, and classically influenced tracks “We Dance On” from Bodyrox and “Sugabitch” from Terry + Si) the film really got my feet a’tapping (much to my daughters’ dismays – “Dad, you’re so embarrassing” – Hehehe!!). Just as well I'm not 30 years younger or I'd of been in the aisles trying to dance along.
I though Charlotte Rampling gave a great performance as Helena, the wise ex ballet dancer turned dance academy instructor, who threw her ballet students and the streetdancers together. Good performance too from "Ballet Boy" Richard Windsor. Nichola Burley was OK but not great as Carla, the female lead.
I’m giving it 8 out of 10, and I’m going to get the soundtrack!!

Re: Street Dance 3D
I had the feedback request and used it to suggest that they sack showfilmfirst for only allowing 20% of the seats to be filled in Leeds.
