I don't mind the red carpet footage if, they actually have stars there. Kerry Katona is not a star

Re: Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
It was my first premier screening (thanks to hdaniel82 for my tickets!) and watching the red carpet on the screen before the film. Thought the red carpet footage was quite tedious, bf was playing games on his mobile so he didn't get too caught up in all the behind the scenes/trailers before watching the film.
I did enjoy the film. Didn't realise it was a disney movie. Heart warming story with lots of action, some of which was really quick, which was good for the movie, but hard as an audience member to keep up at times. Typical disney storyline, good overcomes evil...
8/10
My bf and I had a discussion after the film; I said that Dastan had a dream which is why he ended up telling his brothers what was going on with their uncle at the end. My bf said that Dastan went back in time. I said that the first time he went back in time, he was fighting with the princess in the desert and pressed the button. Therefore, I think he must have had a dream. What do others think?? I am curious to see if people think this to be a dream or if he did travel back in time.
Re: Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
Saw this on Sunday at the vue at the o2. Firstly may I say that the cinema is fantastic. Ultra-modern, very friendly staff and screen 11 where P of P was showing was amazing. It's apparantly the biggest screen in Europe. Comfortable seats and a genuinely nice atmosphere.
The movie is really a lot of fun. Doesn't take itself too seriously. Realises where it has come from and keeps a lot of the video game to mind when watching it. Jake was great, and let's hope this leads to a few sequels. Gemma was fine, quite funny.
A great popcorn movie.

Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads.
Re: Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
Took my child to watch it on the first day of official release (friday). I only know how the case looks like for Prince of Persia game but I still liked the movie, mostly for fairytale eastern settings, costumes and special effects. It does look like a big Disney blockbuster and here come new toys including swords, shields, daggers, etc and dress up costumes in Disney shops, new rides in Disneyland Parks, etc - similar to Pirates of the Carribean. This is going to be a "big thing" (I imagine for boys mostly) and expensive for parents... Well...that's next birthday present and couple X-mas presents sorted...

Re: Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
I went to see this last night. I thought the film was entertaining if a little on the long side at 116 minutes.
The scenery was absolutely stunning and the enormity and grandeur of the crowd scenes were very impressive too. The thing must have cost a fortune to make. It reminded me of those Indiana Jones films from years ago. Action packed certainly, but unfortunately without the same pace and let down somewhat by a less than compelling script.
Like some others have allready mentioned in these threads I felt that some of the fight sequences sufferred from being shot at too close a range. It would have been nice to have been given a clearer view with less hard cropping.
No offence to Gemma Arterton but to cast her as someone who was supposed to be “the most beautiful woman in the world” was not the cleverest move in my opinion – not that she’s ugly or anything – far from it. For me, she had the look of a young Denise Van-Outen – more kind of fresh faced, nice looking girl next door than alluring classical beauty.
Jake Gyllenhaal (who, impressively, apparently did a lot of his own stunts) gave a fine performance as the Prince. However, I did think Ben Kingsley’s talents were a bit wasted as the Prince’s evil uncle. He reminded me of some overly made up, third rate, pantomime dame performer in this.
It was a shame that in the main the film’s characters seemed to lack any real adult emotion or depth which I felt was detrimental to the overall effect.
In conclusion, I would say that the film was entertaining but a little disappointing because, with more attention to the script and better character development, it could have been so much more.
7 out of 10 for me.

Re: Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
i went today to see this movie. I wasn't sure if it was my type but the trailer and reviews seemed to make me think it were worth a watch on the big scene. I was impressed with it and look forward to sequels, might even get the video game. 8/10

Re: Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
great fun.
what it really needed though was a stronger lead character. You only realise how good Johnny Depp/ Jack Sparrow is until hes not around... and for that this film was certainly not close to Pirates 1.

Re: Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
Finally took my son to see this at the Metrocentre - after he has been begging me for ages - we were in the IMAX and there were only about 20 people in there including us
As soon as I spotted Ben Kingsley you sort of suspect what is going to happen - not giving the plot away.
I enjoyed this because it so so stunning - son gave it a 9/10 and has already b*ght some POP Lego and magazine - Disney franchising is so tempting to our kiddies.
I give it 8/10
