Re: Salt
Yeah it was a competent summer blockbuster and at least it played itself straight and not try to be postmodern, funny, outrageous (tank vs fighter planes-A Team). Although saying that it only happens in a movie that you can escape from a secure CIA building!
Angelina Jolie suited the role well, I couldn't see Tom Cruise playing the same role. The nuclear deterrent/Cold War storyline is a throwback to Patriot Games and Clear and Present Danger, that Phillip Noyce directed so competently in the 90.
It's not crying out for a sequel, but I fear like Bourne Identity, there will be a Salt 2.
7/10

Re: Salt
I saw this with my 3 other girly friends at The Gate on Sunday (used my free guest passes which I got from TGWPWF). One of my friends did not want to see it as she was not a big Angelina Fan, we dragged her along though. I loved it, action from the minute it started, some bits may have been a bit OTT but I thought it was a great film and nice to see Angelina in another action Role. I think if it had been made with Tom Cruise it would not have been as good. I for one will definitley be getting this on DVD and my friend has now been converted and was pleased she came along to this movie. 8/10.

I'll definitely p*y to see Angelina strip, I mean strut her stuff in another action movie. My favourite action heroine and man is she...yeah anyway, me go see it.

Re: Salt
I saw this last night and enjoyed it quite a lot. It reminded me a little of Knight and Day but thankfully without the humour or the smug and irritating TC. The striking Angelina carried off the role as Salt well - You wouldn't want to mess with her - well not in a violent way!
I'd rate it a little higher than Knight and Day because I'm tiring of run of the mill romcoms these days, and it was quite refreshing to see an action thriller played straight for once.
Both of my daughters (who had no problem following Inception) failed to fully grasp what was happening with the changing allegiances during the storyline. Conversely, my wife said that she saw the plot twists coming a mile off. On the other hand I didn't spot them coming at all.
I thought the film was pretty good overall.
7.5 out of 10 from me for this one.

Re: Salt
Saw this today as the first half of my Cineworld double-header. I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did. Angelina is very good and convincing at kicking ass. I seems to be heading towards a Bourne type series, which I'd be fine with, but they really need to make an effort to show some sort of vulnerability with her. She was like some kind of unstoppable machine in this. That's well enough for one film, but they will need to find some kind of weakness for her if they're gonna want an audience to care or be drawn in.
I enjoyed the story and I really got a kick out of how several things played out. I'm glad I caught this while it's still in the cinema. 8.5/10
