Re: Just Wright
Just seen this tonight and saw the regulars.
It was nice to have crisps, nuts, olives and drinks as I was quite peckish!
I thought the film was about average, you could guess what was going to happen in the end. I found the guy Scott way too perfect and also he had so much in common with Leslie which made it less believable. Oh said it was tedious. 5/10 and only because 'we' had comfy seats!

Re: Just Wright
Lovely to see and chat to so many FMUKers tonight and enjoy the pre-drinks and nibbles. This is what all screenings should have!
Film was standard fare and predictable, Scott and Leslie both too perfect, but saying all that I actually did enjoy the film. May be I liked the cinderella story, the feel good factor, and the plain non-taxing, easy watching, and comfortable seating, spoilt only by the noisy audience and also being asked to move to the front seats like 2 minutes before film was about to start for the journalists! Really rude when we were the first to arrive and got comfortable for at least half an hour already in the back row.

Re: Just Wright
What a boring, cliche-ridden, unfunny paint-by-numbers rom-com. And it's not in any way better or different because there's black instead of white people in the film. Had to laugh at the guy in the film's real (well rapper) name: Common. He's a commoner and she's a queen (Latifah). I only realised when bevvy told me that the comp was from a magazine apparently for black people that they must have found it odd that there was a whole group of white folks who all knew each other, hogging the best seats. Well, tried to at least, but some of us where shooed off the back row 2 minutes before the film to make room for some journalists. Erm, why don't you reserve these seats beforehand then we can get other good ones, and not have to find inferior seats at the last minute and split up? I am composing the complaint email in my head as we speak, also mentioning that we were all there at 6 for a 6.30pm start, only to be told that it was going to start at 7pm. Kudos to the two guys on the left who plain refused to move and were left in peace by a bewildered usher girl. (Was that you, superhero?)
Can't say I liked the non-FMUK audience much either. There were some unbelievably disruptive girls in there, chatting all the way through the film, with their iphones lit up like christmas trees for the duration. Some people really treat a cinema movie like a slumber party get-together!
4.5/10 is the absolute most I can give this. In fact I don't know why I am so generous, seeing that I suffered all the way through and just wanted to go to sleep. I guess the crisps, nibbles and drinks deserve a point, but I am taking one off for the last-minute journo favouritism.

Nope I didn't go, I finished work late. Sounds fun though, I like by the numbers rom-coms
and the drinks and nibbles. I am surprised they had room for press too, It's not a big screen at Fox

Flavour Magazine – The lifestyle guide for the young and ambitious
Gosh well it was lovely to meet more FMUKers, please forgive me if I forget your names next time. I take ages to remember faces so just come say hello
Nice to have the nibbles, plates would have made it easier though. So lots of us sat down ready for 6pm only to find it was now 7pm, rather annoying, I could have gone out for food before the screening.
So eventually just before the film started, all the back rows got chucked out and had to move for the press (was that why the film was delayed) Not really fair leaving it so late to tell people they can't sit there. Why not put reserved signs on the seats?
The film itself was dreadful, cliche ridden predictable tosh. You could predict exaclty what would happen and when. Even QL herself said it was no stretch ie, 'I made this in my sleep'. The two leads were nice enough but I didn't really see chemistry there.
having said that, I may have enjoyed the film a bit more, if it were not for the audience. The girls behind me kept up a conversation more or less through the whole film! I don't know why they bother to go if they want to chat and wave phones around.
I had to laugh at my friend ( or I would have smacked her) I think cos she'd had a few drinks, she was getting too involved with it all giving little commentaries about the film, who the actors were, what they'd been in. I had to keep telling her to shsss
MInd you as it was a 95% female audience, there were lots of comments and sighs and squeals going on.
NOt even Pretty Woman gets me going like that LOL

Re: Just Wright
Damn, a romantic comedy that I really quite enjoyed.
What’s going on here, I must be getting soft in my old age!
I thought (the oddly named) Queen Latifah played the Leslie Wright character very well. She was such a friendly, likeable and personable lady.
Equally oddly named Rapper “Common” gave a fantastic performance as Scott the pro basketball player too.
They shared some great on-screen chemistry and they were ably supported by the rest of the cast. In particular, Paula Patton excelled as Leslie’s gorgeous looking, but coldly calculating and materialistic, friend Morgan.
7 out of 10.
Would have been 8, but I've got to deduct a mark for the travesty of the door mod on the "pimp my ride" Mustang. Sacrilege - Grandfather would have been turning in his grave!
