This film is now on general release - pretty mixed reviews up to now.

I found this on the Cineworld site:

Idris Elba and Matt Dillon star in an action-packed crime thriller about a gang of crooks planning the ultimate bank heist.

'Takers' is the underworld saga of a notorious group of criminals led by the charismatic Gordon Jennings (Idris Elba). The volatile members of his crew include John Rahway, 'The Bagman' (Paul Walker), Ghost 'The Smooth Talker' (Tip "T.I." Harris), Jesse Attica, 'The Runner' (Chris Brown), A. J. 'The Builder' (Hayden Christensen) and Jake Attica 'The Gunman' (Michael Ealy). Pulling off a series of perfectly-executed bank robberies, these slick and stylish criminals pride themselves on getting in and out like clockwork, leaving no evidence behind and laying low in between heists. But then they attempt to pull off one last job with more money at stake than ever before. This time the crew find their plans interrupted by hardened detective Jack Welles (Matt Dillon) who is hell-bent on bringing them down.

Screenplay: John Luessenhop

Distributor: Sony

You should see it because: Director John Luessenhop delivers jaw-dropping action sequences and an all-star cast.

See it if you liked: The Italian Job (2003), Inside Man (2006), The Losers (2010)

Saw this film yesterday, before my Bollywood epic!

It's very similar to "The Town", in as much as it's a cops v robbers heist movie, but it's not as good.

I found the first part very slow, sleep inducing and not very engaging. Once the heist was in progress though it livened up somewhat. Quite violent, "parkourish" (Warning - made up word alert!) and action packed. Character development was a little underdone in some quarters. Bizarrely some of the slo-mo action scenes reminded me of parts of Kick-ass, that's not a criticism - just an observation.

I'd give it 7 out of 10.
