Vampires Suck

#1 Post by andrews » Wed Sep 08, 2010 8:14 pm

VAMPIRES SUCK is a comedy about contemporary teen angst and romance movies. Becca, an anxious, non–vampire teen, is torn between two boys. Before she can choose, Becca must get around her controlling father, who embarrasses Becca by treating her like a child. Meanwhile, Becca’s friends contend with their own issues. All these romantic entanglements collide at the prom.

Trailer:

I wonder how many of us will be giving this one a miss? The group of people who hate the Twilight films probably, and maybe those who love them. That doesn't leave many. However, this film is doing rather well in the States at present. Might catch it when it comes onto Sky....but might not.

I saw a trailer for this way back and it looked hilarious - maybe not for Twihards though.

I wondered how long it would be before Mr Jason Friedberg and Mr Aaron Seltzer turned their attention to the vampire craze taking over tween-fandom across the globe. Not a big fan of them, but I have to admit... I did actually laugh at a few bits in that preview, like when Edward shot Alice in Wonderland... They have a tendency to put all the good jokes in the trailers usually though, so I'm not expecting much (even if I really do hate Twilight)

I wish they'd make "Friedberg & Seltzer Movie" then retire, knowing they out Uwe Boll'd Uwe Boll for terrible terrible movies.

I saw the trailer and though what a waste of time, but also an easy way to make a quick buck of some sad fools and there are plenty about. My advice don't go find it on the internet etc...

I thought this was a thread criticising vampire films and was all set to defend them! This film, however, sounds very weak - not like Let the Right One In, for instance. I've also b*ght a DVD set of the 1960s Mystery & Imagination TV series which contains, amongst other vaguely remembered gems a faithful adaptation of Dracula with Denholm Elliot. This p*rchase obviously shows my age but in defence I only really remember the trailers for these as I was around 10 at the time and they looked very scary so I was either too afraid or not allowed to watch most of them. At long last after about 40 years I can watch them!

I liked the Twilight films, so I thought I would never go and see this film, but I saw a trailer the other night and I think it looks very funny, fingers crossed for previews. :cross:

I saw this last night, I’m not sure what I was expecting, I think I thought it would be a bit hit and miss, but that I would find a lot of it funny! It didn’t start well, in the first 10 minutes they crammed in too many jokes and they were really stupid, there were only 7 of us in the cinema, but no one laughed! It picked up a bit in the middle and there were some funny scenes and the ending was a lot better. Good job it was only an hour and 20 minutes, if it was any longer I think I might have left!

4/10

It sucks allright. Tollerable but not great.

4.5 out of 10. No-one said that all the 100 free films had to be good ones, now did they?
