Re: Rabbit Hole
A simple story, very well told, how different people deal with grief in different ways. Great performances from both Nicole Kidman (she never fails for me) and Aaron Eckart as the grieving parents, as well as from Dianne Wiest as Becca's mother, although a small part. I was expecting something to happen but nothing did, as in real life, as harshly as it is, life just goes on, and you have to find acceptance and solace in whatever you feel provides that comfort and closure, whether it is through God or a parallel universe. I am going to sit on the fence with this one, as I did not totally dislike it, but I had a very long and tiring day mentally today, and unfortunately, it may have influenced my judgement and wishing I had gone to see a lighter film instead, like Morning Glory!
7/10

Re: Rabbit Hole
didn't work for me either, I was bored sensless and just sat back with my eye's closed for half the tlme and thinking NK needs a damned good meal for the rest of the time. Aaron Eckhart was excellent, but with her, you can't really see emotion because of the botox or whatever. I really wanted to like this but it was just too dreary for me. 6/10
Re: Rabbit Hole
Slow and at times pretty tough going. I was in tears several times. If you have a brick in your pocket, then this film will remind you of its presence.

Re: Rabbit Hole
Well, it did seem a bit too long for me.... And no, I don't want to watch it again....
And I have a genuine request: can someone please PM me how it ended ( I guess it won't be nice to post it on the forum for everyone to see, and spoil it for the ones who are going to watch it later) I know I just been to see it! and I was not distracted or anything... but! I was thinking how it has ended and I cannot remember!
Shame on me
! Help please!

Maybe I was just relieved it was coming to an end! lolsuperhero wrote:You liked the ending? The people at my screening laughed at the ending! (I don't think thats what the director was looking for somehow)
raineylb wrote:I must be one of those people who just didn't 'get it', it really didn't work for me, I was bored, I liked the male lead, Nicole Kidman's character just bored me, I did like how it ended and thought that was the best 5 minutes of the film (and not just because it was ending) but overall it wasn't for me, which was a shame as i was really looking forward to this one.superhero wrote:It was only just over 90mins!
But hey wouldn't it be a boring world if we all liked the same things!
Preferred Cinema's now Paignton or Exeter!

Re: Rabbit Hole
She came home, they talked, then they invited friends for a "cook-off", whatever that is, after that they sat and looked at the view. The End
I thought it was moving.

Re: Rabbit Hole
I just don't remember the ending!!! To be honest it wasn't my best day today.... and I was (and still is...) very very tired... The strangest thing I can retell the whole film up to 7.53pm or so (almost ! the end) and that's when I checked my watch. And after I looked at my watch it kind of went blank (I mean my mind....) I was watching it on my own tonight so I do not have a friend to ask! I do remember thinking how she could do it to the dog!!! (don't approve!!!) but that wasn't the very end....

Thank you!!! Beate!
I do remember a "cook off", I just thought it was some key scene I missed at the end...
