Re: Yogi Bear
Saw it in Birmingham today. There were a few seats still free. Quite enjoyed it and the road runner cartoon:) Some of the 3D was good but didn't really see the need for it. The children enjoyed it though.
Re: Yogi Bear
That's how I feel too, I was expecting much worse than it was. The story reminded me of Furry Vengeance, and really it's a film for kids with a good message about saving the trees and near-extinct animals, etc. For grown-ups, one or two funny lines but that's it... ("Boo Boo, get ready to travel faster than the speed of sandwich...")alythonian wrote:It wasn't great but it wasn't awful.
I thought it would be noisy with all the kids watching but they were all quiet, they must have been totally captivated by the film. Either that or they all fell into a coma out of boredom...
And I loved Roadrunner at the start (was it called "Rabid Racer" or something?), that took me straight back to childhood. Warner Brothers always had the best cartoons!

Re: Yogi Bear
My eight-year old cousins went to see this and they said they loved it. The little boy texted me to say there's a waterfall scene they particularly liked. After that text came the one which said 'Did you know Man U lost last night!'
I don't know what their parents thought, but it's not about them is it... it's for the kids!!!

Re: Yogi Bear
Saw this at Westfield today. Lovely screening room with lots of VIP seats with reserved printed on them, but everyone sat on them anyway. 90% full with lots of young children who were all well behaved and captivated by the film.
As others have said, it is not good, but it is not awful. I actually did enjoy it though. My friend and her 9 year old nephew loved it as did my mum, and she didn't want it to end. I also thought the 3D was good. Otherwise, without the 3D, it would have been quite dull, as it was very predictable and silly, and acting very hammy. Nevertheless, a good, fun children's film. 7/1O
I think the roadrunner cartoon beforehand was called "Rabid Rabbit", and I heard someone ask if that was the title of the film we were going to see! Incidentally, there were more giggles and laughter from this cartoon than from Yogi Bear.

Re: Yogi Bear
I believe the Roadrunner short is called 'Rabid Rider'.

Re: Yogi Bear
When Ranger Smith tells Rachel that without her he's like a like a genus without a phylum. I'm sure I didn't know what that was until secondary school!!
