Sorry to disagree with you PXC, but that's not strictly true!
The Telegraph always seem to have a knack of being able to consistently provide audiences that have an even higher average age than my own. This allows me to enjoy the rare feel good factor of not being the oldest person at the screening. Let us have more of these Telegraph screenings I say!
As to the film..... I enjoyed it. It was quite a bit different to anything I've encountered on any of my recent film outings, and all the better for that. It was a humorous film but with an underlying sadness and seriousness.
I particularly liked seeing the everyday life in, and sights of, the Punjab. The wedding celebrations were a real joy to behold as well, with the music, dancing, costumes and ornate decoration. Even the animals had been dressed up!
There were some really fine performances from the cast - Aqib Khan (Sajid), Om Puri (George) and, albeit briefly, Robert Pugh (Mr Jordan) were all exceptional.
7.5 out of 10 for the film.
Nice to bump into fellow FMUKers Andrews and Sarahjc78 at the screening, too.
