Saw it at 11am in Romford, a packed screening of me and another bloke, who chose to sit right close to me.
Thankfully he was smart enough to laugh at the right times, so a chorus of chuckles and giggles at times when Hunter S. Thompson appeared and The Man With No Name popped in, voiced by Timothy Olyphant giving me a double chuckle, and the completely brilliant wordplay and such too.
I loved Rango, I will be catching this film again and am sure to see it pick up the Oscar next year. A stunningly beautiful looking film (No surprise Roger Deakins was a visual consultant just as he was on WALL-E) full of great wit and charm, some surrealistic elements, a lot of darkness between the light-hearted relaxed nature of the whole film, it's a cracker. Depp has a blast, and the exceptional voice cast has not a single failure (Go Isla Fisher, impossible to recognise) and everything worked out well, except perhaps the slow pace in the build up to the final act, but that's a given for the kind of mood Rango was aiming for.
Great fun that never patronises or alienates, quality filmmaking as well as amazing animation.
