Your Highness
Re: Your Highness
Thanks to the well wishes from fmukers, I managed to get to Vue WE yesterday feeling quite good. But my feeling of the sicker I am the more I win is getting spookier. I did win another pair for yesterday screening. So, brought a couple of friends to join me. May be I should think of putting any bets sooner before I'm 100% healthy...hmmmmmm
I hate total stupidity for some laughs kind of movie. But I think this one, it's not bad. I guess it's true when McBride said, the serious Franco and Portman were, the funnier it got. The s*x related jokes were thinning towards the end. At one point I can't even look at Thadeous and his 'necklace'. urrghhhhhh but I was hoping he presented the token of his slay to his father as Fabious did at the beginning of the movie with the ogre's head. How proud can a father get to receive the Minotaur's.. huk huk huk
I think the Q&A was fun as well... may be I'm just getting better and needed the cheering up, so, I'll be a bit generous to YH... a 7/10 from me :)

Re: Your Highness
Not much to add really, I had low expectations and kind of enjoyed most of the film, more chuckling than laughing though...
The Q&A was a nice bonus at the end of it, and interesting to learn how a certain prop ended up in the back of Danny McBride's car!
A generous 7/10 overall.

Re: Your Highness
Glasgow was packed tonight with competition winners from various sites and also SFF ticketholders. Made two random girls very happy when they became part of my party to see this as they were off to see Hall Pass as I had two extra places that I didn't know about. They were behind us when we were giving our names and asked casually if they rather see this and the Q n A after.
totally agree this film is American Pie meets The Princess Bride. Two film I enjoyed so it is not surprising I like Your Highness. Some of the jokes were pretty funny though some of the audience were laughing pretty loudly at everything. Thought the start with the credits was wonderfully made with the dialogue and pictures. Cineworld even didn't make us watch till the end of the credits for the session after. Cut them once the last person walked out. Pity so many left straight after the film as I thought the session was good. Danny McBride made the effort to come to Glasgow. Interesting Q n As with some good questions. Most asked by fanatics. Even one fan give his demo to him. Danny look pretty bemused by it. Not sure if Danny would watch it. Maybe use it as a coaster. Guess that is what happens when fans know their star is about.

Re: Your Highness
Oh man, I love Franco and McBride, and Portman and Theroux, and in fact a lot of the great cast. But there were only two moments that got me smiling, both by the excellent Justin Theroux, everything else felt, well, oddly toned, dull and long. It was a mess, story and characters were never really cared about, the fantasy monsters just happened, it was lazy and had no sense of momentum or pace, and there really didn't feel like any fun was happening. A 2/10 for me, being generous.

Re: Your Highness
Just saw this. Really enjoyed it. The fact i was sitting next to two guys who kept laughing at anything
Not every joke hits but the propotions is pretty damn good. The juvenile humor works really well. Yeah, it's dumb and obscene for no good reason but that's exactly why I enjoyed it so much. I also really enjoyed the creature design. The main villain's motives are just so ridiculous you can't help but just laugh at the idea.
Theroux was definitely one of the highlights for me. I didn't love it, overall, but there are some good laughs throughout.
Mindless balls of energy, yes, but I thought it was quite good lookin' as a fantasy film. 5/10
