late start! It didn't start until about 8.45! We were sitting in the screen longer than the film lasted, and then found out the tube was down  We had to get the boat back to Tower Hill and then get tubes the rest of the way. I've just gotten in, so pretty annoyed about that. pcx just text me, it took her an hour and 40 mins to get home, poor thing

As to the film, very mixed feelings. I didn't really like the original and haven't seen it since it came out back in the day. I'm a huge Russell fan but didn't really like this very much. the bits that made me laugh was when he was being himself with his one liners rather than the Dudley Moore/ drunk mode, which were not funny but embarrassingly bad. The story itself was quite sweet though. Helen Mirren was good as was his chauffer, sorry I've forgotten his name.

HIgh point was watching the 'red carpet' experience, Russell with the children, Noel Gallagher and Annais and David Baddiel. Oh and the funniest thing was seeing one of his 'stalkers' at the end of the carpet when he was being rushed off, so she didn't get a chat :p Strange girl, her mother used to take her to all the gigs, all round the country when she was only 15 8O

Hellen Mirren is pure talent, but the rest of the cast and most of the story is forgettable. Dragged on for too long. More of a chick flick than anything. Then again, I have not seen the original. Maybe that is why everyone is so pissed at this movie. 6/10

Sorry to hear that Valda! I guess I count myself lucky to have missed the premiere, I always plan to go later than their advertised time, but 20:45 start is ridiculous!

Film was good but travel was/is a nightmare. We were so late back to Victoria that we missed our last train and had to take a different route which will only get us within 8 miles of home :-( not a good end to the night!

Was the attendance affected by the travel problems?

phew glad we decided to go early and have a late lunch sounds like we wouldn't have made it otherwise possibly.

had a great day and met the stars and saw some others and some i didn't even know. some didn't seem to turn up as expected..or were very late.

i thought the film was ok, not great, but i did laugh a few times. i kind of thought though that the film didn't need to be called arthur, in fact it was hardly a re-make at all in parts, not from what i can remember!!!

i'll have to go with 6/10 but 8/10 for the whole day!

oh and it took me 2 hours to get home :@

was ok. not much more. as usual, RB is wanting in the more demanding slower emoting side of acting but does wacky nutty lines well.

not as good as the Dud's version. Moore was a bona fide comedian and his was the original.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?

I think going in with very low expectations, i had a better time than expected. I hadn't seen the original but kinda guessed the story line. It isn't something i'd p*y for but an ok movie. I'd probably give it 5/10.
As i had to collect tickets, i wasn't sure where to go and most of the staff were very unhelpful. I finally managed to get to the right box office at 7:10 so was a little rushed as they were supposed to close doors at quarter past, which they didn't.

I think Russel Brand came in after 7:55 and then the movie started around 8? But i was talking to my sister, for a very long time as i hadnt seen her in a while so maybe time went a little faster than i realised.

I only saw pxc, i had no idea where anyone else was sitting, but next time i guess.

There seem to be quite a few screenings at 02 - we were in the small screen 3 and we started at 8pm, after the cast came in for a brief minute with Russell Brand introducing it, and then they were rushed away presumably to introduce the film in the other screens?

I agree with valda the best thing about this evening was the red carpet experience, arrived just after 5pm and was shown to where the comp winners were standing and it was already full for standing next to the barriers, but managed to squeeze between two people by chatting them up. The girl on my left was dressed in a dalmatian outfit as were her friends, and were there since 3pm! They were definitely Russell Brand fans having seen him twice already somewhere else, knows his mum, his bodyguard by name as well. The guy on my right was there to accompany his 13 year old son who had won tickets, and he arrived just before 5pm.

Managed to get Greta Gerwig's, Helen Mirren's and Russell Brand's autograph. Got photos of them all plus Jessica Lowndes from 90210, Noel Gallagher, David Baddiel, Russell's mum and Katy Perry - she was absolutely stunning but was whizzed away much too quickly by her bodyguards. Also saw Paije Richardson from X Factor.

Helen Mirren was Helen Mirren, and I thought she had the best lines, but Russell Brand was just boring or was the film just boring? Him trying to act drunk just did not work for me, and his voice was so squeaky. And didn't Greta Gerwig look like Ellen Degeneres? 5/10
Lovely to see soonforgotten and evilzadi in Screen 3. Sorry to miss you valda, were you in a different screen?

Couldn't understand why there was no replacement buses when the Jubilee went down with power failure either. Spoke to the London Buses guy to see what was happening, and apparently the Underground was a separate department and they did not lay on extra buses to ferry the 10,000 that were about to leave 02 after their concert tonight, so he was left to deal with all the frustrated passengers with only one bus route back to Central London. Luckily managed to get on the first bus that arrived to take us back to Waterloo and then the tube home - an hour and 40 minutes - absolute madness!
