Shakespeare's classic comedy is given a contemporary spin in Joss Whedon's Much Ado About Nothing. Shot in just 12 days (and using the original text), the story of sparring lovers Beatrice and Benedick offers a dark, sexy and occasionally absurd view of the intricate game that we call love.

Leonato (Clark Gregg - The Avengers; Iron man), the governor of Messina, is visited by his friend Don Pedro (Reed Diamond - Moneyball; goodnight & goodluck), who is returning from a victorious campaign against his rebellious brother Don John (Sean Maher - serenity). Accompanying Don Pedro are two of his officers: Benedick (Alexis Denisof - THE AVENGERS; TV’s ANGEL) and Claudio (Fran Kranz - DIARY OF A WIMPY KID; TV’s DOLLHOUSE). While in Messina, Claudio falls for Leonato's daughter Hero (newcomer Jillian Morgese), and Benedick verbally spars with Beatrice (Amy Acker - THE CABIN IN THE WOODS; TV’s ANGEL; DOLLHOUSE), the governor's niece. The budding love between Claudio and Hero prompts Don Pedro to arrange, with Leonato, their marriage.

has it really become "Joss Whedon's Much Ado About Nothing" as a title? that's a bit off-putting :shifty:

Nope, when I edit the subject line still reads "Much Ado About Nothing" in the editor for me, without the Joss Whedon addition :/

We saw it last night and it was great! A really fun film and it makes Shakespeare accessible which is something I'm very excited about. Also stars some of my favourite actors from the Whedonverse, so it was nice to see old friends again! :D

As an aside my hero Joss Whedon (accompanied by Amy Acker and Alexis Denisof) showed up to our special little screening and did a Q&A with us!!! #Geekheaven

Oh did anyone go to this? Love to hear what went on. Saw the film a few weeks back as part of the Bradford Film Festival and it's really good.

Saw this at the lovely 20thC Fox screening room courtesy of denofgeek last night. At the last minute they were given a bigger room which could have seated another 20 people. So they told us to make a lot of noise when the Q&A 'guest' arrived. We were led to believe it would be some minor cast member, instead enter Joss Whedon, Amy Acker and Alexis Denisof to a standing ovation!

Very much enjoyed the film, every performance was good and the humour was done well.

Also as a personal bonus got to meet Martadelas properly.
