I was at Gate too. Nice to see MariaLionza and valda and friend.

Brilliant satire and top notch acting. I can see the funny side but it was not laugh out loud humour, but it was very realistic. The four characters are so different, how their interaction and sides changes, as a couple, then the women, then the men, then back to a couple. Nowadays, everything has to be politically correct, when in the past children fight and that's it! It takes two to fight, unless, of course, it is bullying.
Anyway, I did enjoy it and glad it ended when it did, as couldn't watch anymore of the "discussion" between the two sets of parents, just the right amount.
8/10.

Absolutely loved this film. Funny dialogue, well acted by brilliant cast.

Loved the trailers beforehand. Can't wait to see The Pirates film by Ardman.

I managed to get up in time and went to The Gate where PCX and MariaLonza had saved us some seats. First of all I have to say its fantastic to see a film with the lights turned off o/ On a bad not how the hell they can justify charging £1.95 for a small bottle of water? Both Sam and I forgot our bottles

As I said before, we'd seen the Stage Play in 2008 ( seems like years ago) and it was great fun and the film was equally so. Just the right length, with 3 Oscar Winners no less o/ FAbulous to see Christoph Waltz, can't see enough of him :shifty:

This got me thinking if this show were revived, I wonder if it could carry on like Art? changing the cast every so often.
preferred locations Shepherds Bush, Westfield, Notting Hill, Central London, Wimbledon, Islington, Wandsworth thanks

:D I wondered if you would get up in time valda, and pleased you did! I had to get up even earlier to fetch my mum, and was thinking what did I let myself into, anyway, it was well worth it even though I had Big Miracle to tempt me as only 10minutes away, but decided to stick with Carnage (hey it was Waltz or Drew(!)), but an earlier finish meant more time to get where we needed to get to next. So all in all, great!

Husband and I saw this at a full Hackney Picturehouse and can I say what a pleasure it was to be at a proper cinema -- and I'm staring at you dreadful Cineworld. We could take our seats early, great view from everywhere, with comfortable reclining seats and plenty of legroom. And the audience was quiet, not eating loads of rubbish and no one even peeked at their oh-I-am-so important messages. I think Beate would approve!

We liked the film and yes, it is obviously a play but it seemed to work for us. Of course they would never have ventured back into the apartment so belief had to be suspended but it was engaging and all four actors were great.

Funny how Edinburgh Picturehouse - aka The Cameo was missed off the list for this screening this morning. Thank goodness for SKY screening on Tuesday if reviews are anything to go by.

Cineworld Unlimited is cheating! ;-)

Saw this today, really enjoyed it, so true to life. Cracks in relationships soon come to the surface. We all know the character types, while the kids sorted it all out themselves

Saw this today in Liverpool. Took me about 20 minutes to get into it but once I did I really enjoyed it.

John C Reilly was a stand out for me.

This was indeed a very funny and entertaining depiction of parents arguing like children after the thin veneer of social niceties slowly disintegrates. Great cast, Jodie Foster in particular is excellent. Have not seen or read the play but I think it worked fine as a sort of theatrical film too. A bit like Le Diner de Cons in that respect. 8.5/10
