Prince William and Kate were lovely but the meet and greet were endless as superhero already reported, and I could see one of the aides/staff trying to hurry them along. Once Kate and William found their seats, we all stood up while the national anthem was played by a fanfare of trumpets. Then Alex Zane came on stage and welcomed the royal couple and then introduced the writer, Stephen Spielberg, and the cast one by one. Finally the film started. The star of the film was definitely Joey the horse.
The bond between Joey the horse and Jeremy Irvine, was beautifully told, and then the First World War through the horse's perspective is amazing, and how he touched the lives of all he meets. Thought the film was quite breathtaking at times, and very sentimental, but worked for me. I went through so many emotions in this film, from humor, to sadness, to tears of joy. The two scenes in No Man's Land - the charges of the soldiers, had me really appalled by the devastation, and I really felt for Joey the Horse getting caught in the barbed wire in No Man's Land, and the scene to free him was really touching.
The clapping seems to be endless too at the end of the film and it was nice to see the young royals staying right to the end of the credits and until the lights went up. Unlike Charles and Camilla who left as soon as the credits came on at the Hugo premiere. From where we sat, we could see Kate and William coming in and leaving. She is so slim! 9/10
