Thank god it's quite dark so you can't see me properly.

As for the film I thought it was stunning. Very powerful and unsettling with an excellent use of unnerving sound and visuals that gives it a constant disturbing atmosphere. The fractured narrative also adding to the sense of unease.
Brilliantly directed by Lynne Ramsay and beautifully and inventively shot by Seamus McGarvey (Atonement), it's a film that is consistently astonishing.
It's also excellently acted by all concerned. Tilda Swinton is fantastic (if the film wins any awards, she'll be top of the list). Ezra Miller also very good as Kevin (the two younger actors that play him are also convincingly unpleasant) and John C Reilly gives yet another decent performance.
Though a depressing subject matter there is also quite a lot of humour throughout. Admittedly some of it fairly dark.
I can't say how good an adaptation it is as I've not read the book. Though I do know that the film understandbly ditches the idea that it's all being told through letters, which I believe is how the book is structured.
Like Shame before it, this is another film that's bound to split opinion. I hope that most people will be open to it's almost experimental approach to story-telling though I expect a lot of people will be put off by the narrative structure and unsympathetic characters.
However I thought it was a bold, daring film that should definitely be sitting in my top 10 of the year come December.
It also has my favourite ever crew credit at the end: Guinea Pig Costumer

Great to hear, Kevin. I'm so excited about this film. Think I might go to a pa*d preview on Thursday (well I'll use a voucher!). The book is so good.

I agree with KK.

Wow, I saw this tonight at Curzon Mayfair, the Time Out Special Screening, thanks to hopeprince for taking me, it was mindblowing, weird, brilliant, powerful, chilling, dark, stunning, disturbing and shocking. Any parent who has a son with such a devious mind, would identify with the subject matter. Really impressive performances from Tilda Swinton, Ezra Miller and the young actors. Lynne Ramsay, Rory Kinnear and Ezra Miller were at the Q&A afterwards.

Afterwards managed to meet and speak with Ezra in the foyer before he was whisked away! o/

what a remarkable film

Agree with the previous reviews - a chilling, powerful film which scarily feels all too possible within the real world (which makes it even more scary)

Excellent performances across the board, but loved Tilda Swinton (as always) and the younger Kevin - not sure how old he was when playing the part but my goodness, he was so good.

Not an easy watch if you are a parent yourself I would imagine, but we were mesmerised by this film.

One of the best of the year so far, without question.

9/10
