The Hurt Locker

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0887912/

Iraq. Forced to play a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse in the chaos of war, an elite Army bomb squad unit must come together in a city where everyone is a potential enemy and every object could be a deadly bomb. full summary | add synopsis

I read a really interesting article about how they researched and made it so should be good.

Watched the trailer for this last night and it looks pretty good. It's nice to see a military film which isn't all about "Spec" ops type people :D

I agree, I thought it looked pretty...erm not so good! Nothing that tickles my fancy.

It looks quite boring. These are the sort of films, I really dislike.

in the film programme for my local cinema it describes it as a possible oscar contender... but then this is the first time in ages that there are no tickets left.. woke up too late!

Hurt Locker
The Hurt Locker Dir: Kathryn Bigelow, 2008, US, 2hrs 11mins Cast: Jeremy Renner, Guy Pearce, Brian Geraghty, Anthony Mackie Kathryn Bigelow (Point Break, Near Dark) is back with a superb Iraq-based thriller that already has critics excited. Three-man Bravo Company specializes in bomb disposal, and they have 38 days left in the field when they're introduced to new commander, William James (Renner). James is charismatic and inspiring, but his unorthodox (read suicidal) methods of bomb disposal have his company counting every day that they survive.'.could shape up to be the sleeper Oscar contender of the year' Tim Robey, Telegraph.

I can't speak for everyone, as different strokes for different folks and all that. But it's one of the best, most realistic war movies I've seen in a long time :)
