Just been to watch this with akh43 and my daughter. I'm going to stick my neck out and say that it was OK as it was just what I expected. I assumed that its aimed at 12 year old girls and at that age I'm sure that I would have really enjoyed it so its a very high 5/10 from me.

Actually this wasn't quite as bad as I thought it would be. Yes it is vacuous. Yes it is bland. Yes it is wallpaper - and who watches wallpaper? But I kinda enjoyed it for what it was. Free. Total cost of my afternoon was £1.35 return bus fare - door to door.
It is the sort of fare that you would expect from an American TV series like Beverly Hills 90210 etc. or an American Hollyoaks. It is easy on the eye, it had a kinda story and it had a begining a middle and an end which is more than can be said for some nonsense we have been subjected to recently.
Yet again the Americans have painted the French in a poor light. I know how I would feel if I saw the Scottish being caricatured. Wonder what Octopus and Celini will make of it? Very unfunny Joan of Arc piss-take.

I have to admit that I couldn't believe my eyes at first with the chicken scene. LOL.

I was in the screening after Biggins. Biggins - I collected up all the popcorn you spilled and left and I can return it to you next time we meet. Haha.

Was that popcorn still scattered all over the lobby!! What a mess someone must have spilt the whole carton all over the carpet and they didn't get that for free.

You should have been at the same screening as me SB then I wouldn't have felt so old!! :p

£1.35 return bus fare?? What was bus was that? Dial -a-bus!!! :giggle:

Haha. Cheek! No is the wee MacEwans bus from Biggar. What a daft idea having so few screenings a day and so early. I wasn't expecting to see anyone there anyway. (And not really any popcorn).

Despite all the bad reviews on here I thought that I'd probably still like the film as I'm a sucker for teeny bopper flicks (What a Girl Wants, Just My Luck, anything with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, I admit I own most of them on DVD...) but even I thought this was pretty shit.

Despite being aimed at young teens it was anything but a harmless vacation romance story, instead it was heavily focoused on sex and drugs with a terrible lead (I don't think Miley was this bad as Hanna Montana?) and no characters anyone really cares for. My little sister is the target audience but it really isn't the kind of film I'd want her to see.

The only thing I did like was the music from the band in the film. However Kyle's storyline was very unbelievable too how his father went from agressive and abusive to giving him the thumbs up a scene later. It didn't seem as if the father's problem lay with if his son was talented or not but that his school work was suffering under it, so it didn't make sense from that pov.

Also, a question for anyone who really sat through the whole thing as I was confused:
When Demi Moore finds the diary doesn't it fall open on the page with the condom wrapper? So why does she confront Lola's father about his daughter's supposed drug abuse? I didn't catch any drug reference in the diary.
4.5/10

Now I am going to rewatch Wild Child for the umpteenth time to cleanse my brain...

Just back from watching this at Ocean Terrible Vue.

Very glad it was free - Vue are charging premium rates today as it's a "holiday"!

I'm glad I didn't know Smiley Miley was in it before hand or I would not have gone in.

It wasn't as bad as it could have been but the French bit was truly dire. I'm sure Air France which was prominently displayed are not so happy at having pa*d for that now?! Poor French, we were only missing Jonny Oignon and they'd have got every charachature in there!

Anyway it passed a couple of hours on a boring no telly Tuesday evening!

The acting in this was awful, especially from Cyrus. Demi looked better in this than she did in Margin Call, must be a hair thing. And the one playing her mother??? Good lord, I would shoot her plastic surgeon, she looked much better in Friends. As for the film, well, if thats what battle of the bands is like these days, they shud stick Hanna Montana in it. Eurovision was a higher standard than that. Don't know why they bothered with Paris at all??? What a waste of time and money that was. The only good thing was that I felt safer in the knowledge that Hannah Montana had gone back 2 USA, Paris is far 2 close for her 2 be 4 me.
